Great story, Occupy Creepy tent, LOL.

That battery size looks familiar... Will your tandem start with one less battery Al? ;D

Gonna miss seeing the 5 around here but Toyota's are cool too, I guess. ;)

well, i got some parts and i've been getting a few things done. i'm almost ready to wheel, i think.

i got the axles out to change the birfs. i'm putting on 'better than stock' 27 spline birfs from Trail Gear and keeping the stock inners

Mudmagnet tells me to drop the axle in a piece of pipe clamped in the vice, birf up. the birf stayed on top of the pipe and the inner axle dropped out the bottom of the pipe. it worked great on the long side! the short side was a different story. the little clip that holds the birf on broke and nicked the splines on the axle. very hard to get off and put back together! needed another set of hands, so me and adammac got er done and back in housing. thanks man.

dealer got me some new clips
[image]

got a new brake caliper on there with some new lines. we grinded the side off the other one.

pulled the housing out and drilled the perches to get the axle ahead a couple inches.

i couldn't bolt up the drive shaft till i moved it ahead a bit, it should be fine now
[image]

back together
[image]

pulled the diff yokes off cause i didn't have the rite bolt pattern to bolt the driveshaft on
[image]

changed the dust cover and bolted in a tripple drilled flange yoke
[image]

none of the three yokes i have here will bolt to this front shaft, not even the tripple drilled one! wtf?

next thing i gotta do is shorten this drag link and bolt on the highsteer kit. should be ready to wheel after that!

I'll bring that draglink home with me after the weekend, get 'er fixed up. The end showing in the pic is left hand thread...it has the ring machined around it.

Hey Al, what's the point of the wheel spacers? Is that for brake clearance?

Yes. The rim centers were cut on the plasma table so they are flat. they hit the calipers.

no. what do you mean? the yoke is staying in one place and i'm turning the driveshaft to try and line up the holes. you mean turn the yoke 45 and try it again? i tried to line up the tripple drilled yoke when its not even on the diff, i can't see any way in hell it's gonna work with that shaft! maybe the end of my driveshaft is not a Toyota part? i'm pretty sure i tried it every which way! Jan is bringing the yoke that fits my driveshaft for sure. i'll try it again anyway.... it was pretty late when i was trying to get it together.... i'll let you know!

the toyota bolt pattern is not a perfect square, its more like a rectangle pattern.... if that makes more sence...lol
