Not sure if this should be tech or pics! ;D Move it if ya need to Jan. Got my engine back from the machine shop the other day, and a bunch of other parts are now here so I started the FUN stuff. Block was bored .030 over, crank was ground .010 and .010, heads planed, block and heads magnafluxed, shot peened and cleaned. New valve guides and 3 angle valve job. All new bearings (cam, main and rod), all new frost plugs, entire gasket kit and perfect circle rings. New .030 pistons. I think that is it from the machine shop (do not have the invoice here . I did a mild port job on the intake and exhaust ports on the heads and started assembling the heads with the new Comp Cam springs and seals. Oh and AMC engine blue paint! With the new Omix-Ada finned aluminum valve covers! Got a shot of paint on the block. New pistons (nothing fancy) A shot of the Holley Fuel Injection kit. Which will be going onto this. Edelbrock Air gap manifold. I think I am getting carried away. Lotsa new parts to go into the engine. Oil pump rebuild kit Taylor Wires K&N 14" Ait filter and X-Stream air filter top Oil dipstick and tube PCV Valve and Grommet (hard to find) Edelbrock Intake Manifold Holley Fuel Injection Kit Comp Cam Double roller timing Chain Comp Cam valve springs, retainers, locks Comp Cam Lifters Comp Cam Aluminum Valve Covers I think there is more, I have been squirelling parts away for a little while now. I have very little room left in my tool box as the parts are taking it all up! hehehe Hoping to have it in and running for the New Years Day run! *crosses fingers* Will post up pics of the progress over the next few weeks. ;D

Dial-ups no problem with the resized pics. I think AMC blue is the best engine color. It will look great all together. Should make the old CJ work awsome.

I'm wondering where you found the AMC blue paint? I've seen it at Eastwood, but nowhere local.

lol, I tried to find a 401 before the rebuild, but could not. Dude on the NBJC forum was selling a 401/t18/d20 Combo for $1500. Engine had 140k edelbrock cam and intake. Unfortunately he did not return any pm's or postings and left no contact information! Am I smelling a 401 rebuild there Darrin??

I'm wondering where you found the AMC blue paint? I've seen it at Eastwood, but nowhere local. Got it from a automotive restoration place in Ontario. Was having a hard time finding the paint in canada, then found this site and happend to see that they are an Eastwood supplier! Plugged in the paint code from Eastwood into their search and voila! Ordered it through their online store, no problems, received it in 7 days. Not exactly cheap at $15 a can plus shipping, but I felt it was worth it! ultimateperformancecar.ca/store.asptinyurl.com/upd7dI bought an extra can to squirel away.

I found they tend to be a little on the "generous" side of tolerances. well done on the paint! glad to see it in it's proper color! Bill

Ahh, yes. I almost forgot about this section. Thanks Jan. Will be posting updates of the assembly. Hoping to yank the 360 out of the CJ on next friday night, then jam the rebuilt one in and try to set up the FI on Saturday and Sunday. Funny, I was quite the stickler when it came to finding that paint. I wouldn't have been happy with any other paint. Got the cam in, crank and bearings, and 2 pistons in today. So far everything has spec'd out good. Andre and Bennett seem to be satisfied with the machine work.
