I have the tractor with a 400 cc engine and tiny assed trans but an earlier conversation got me thinking a different line yet again
So as I build with the tractor engine if I "happen" across a 3 cylinder sprint with an auto......
I will mount the thing in the back and use the axle shafts as driveshafts right into the diffs.
The tractor rear ends are quite tender, I broke the spiders and an axle shaft all at once. It was an older model Bolens with a larger rear than the newer tractors but still aluminum housing. The tractor had filled tires and chains and that certainly didn't help. Cost about $200 for new gears and shaft. The guy I gave the tractor to snapped the housing towing a hardtop trailer frame around the yard. They can't take much force.

I was thinking the same thing. That stuff is SMALL! Kinda the main reason I started looking at other options.

Now that I have heat in the shop it was time to start again. Too much of a delay with the power plant so I went back to my original plan to use the yamaha stuff.
Keep in mind I'm just playing right now. The frame with the case and position of the engine are staying but the main cage is still random thoughts.
