I can certainly remember this rig being around since I was a kid... last place I saw it was at Kurby's (Curby's? - however you spell it) there in Stewiacke a few years ago with monster paddle tires on it...

I think kurby built it with danny. Rick simom has had it the last 8 or so years. He ran it in the modified BFG racing.

What do most people use for a crawl ratio. Not the lowest the truck has. The crawl ratio normally used in rocks.

What do you guys think abount running 14.9 24 R2 tractor tires in the rocks. They are 49" tall 15" wide and 3" lugs. Yep there 90/32s tread. Im thining about selling the boggers, and just run 1 tire for everything. The tires could be run very low and should grab any lips on the rocks.

will low pressure allow the sidewall to flex and make a big footprint, or does it remain stiff because of a high weight rating?

I have not bought the tires yet, but i want a 4 or 6 ply. They will flex good around rocks with about 2 psi.

Any pics of the tire your talking about?I'm not sure how a tractor tire would work in the rocks. They might work good in the rough rocks , but I don't think that they would like the slick rock faces.
I guess it would depend on what you want to play on or in the most..LOL.And if you have a sale for the 54's, then this would proably be the time to sell them.
I think that to 49" Irocks would be the best all around tire for what you wan to do.

A set of cut 54" Claws would probably suit your needs the best.
