Ha... thats an understatement. I'm going to replace it with a mint frame...along with most of the suspension...er all of the suspension and drive train.

More to come...I expect to have it completely apart by the end of the weekend.

funny behind the gas tank there is part of the frame that only mud was holding together :)

So all in all however I knew it was getting bad...i gave up...usually keep my stuff pretty clean I don't think I cleaned the truck more than once this year...let garbage pile up in it....rode it hard and put it away wet. All the while I was collecting parts for this build ;D

This is my Old Truck, I bought it from Colin and then sold it to my buddy who is doing this build. I was already helping out with taking the box off the other night and I'm sure I will be doing a lot more to help but that why I sold to him, nice to see him bring it some love!!!

Well more tear down over the last few days I removed the doors, hood, fenders, sunroof, front/rear window, most of the interior, bumper, and lights. I also drained and removed the rad, hoses and heater hoses.

Pictures tell the tale....

Look ma...no doors

Here I removed the floor material to find more rust.... on the drivers side I wonder why I didn't put my foot through. Funny the hole is under the gas pedal...I must have a heavy foot ::)

Now for the rust around the front window....good god...I don't really know what was holding this window in....it came out in less than 3 mins.

So with all that out of the way I have to unhook break lines, gas lines, steering shaft, remove the body mount hardware and I will be ready to pull the cab off Friday night.

Dude this will soon no longer be ther truck you sold me since I am replacing the frame, engine/trans, axles, box, cab, rims and tires... I think all that I am using here is the interior, VIN plate, wiring and a few other bits and pieces.

Well a little more done on the tear down. I think the cab will be off tomorrow if the rain stops....dont have room in the shop to do it. Wish I had a neighbor with a loader like Jan :)

So tonight I unhooked everything connecting the cab to the frame or engine, removed the body mounts and came up with what I think is a clever rigging to allow me to use my engine hoist to remove the body. I'm leaving the drive train together in the frame for now so I can take a bunch of measurements and to avoid a bunch of time on my back taking things apart :P

Here is some pictures of the rigging

I hope this works...anybody try this before?
