is your "add a link" welded to the trailer? If not i would advise getting a second one and actually connect to the safety loops on the trailer, because if anything fails in your chain, whether its a hook or like your kinda facked.... thats the point of having two safety chains, the reassurance and a back up if one fails just my thoughts...

Well, I should be getting ready for Jam... but I get distracted easy. Made the trailer's 1st offroad and 1st dump today!
1 load of gravel in (I only put 2/3 of a load seeing as how it was the 1st time and all. I'm confident that it and the Jeep can handle a full one next time.)
1 load of firewood out
Dang, didn't go very far!
On the way out
Overall I'm pretty happy with it. She tracked better then I thought it would. It helps that it's narrower then the jeep... and there are a couple times where I had to back up for the Jeep to make a turn and it made no difference to the trailer.

LOL The trailer's fenders are going to be made to come off with 3 wing nuts each. Last time through this trail the yellow mudflaps ripped off the Jeep, so I decided to snip them off at the house rather then lug them back.

I've always wanted to have a real tailgate on this thing... the previous owner just cut the tub (not even straight at that) and welded on some door hinges. This resulted in the sides being un-supported, and flopping around. I was just using a ratchet strap to keep things in place.
Here's what it looked like
Seemed pretty rough, and considered starting from scratch... but decided to work with what I have
