As you can see, I'm a new member. I'm really interested in Jeeps, except I don't have my own yet. I might be interested in buying a good condition jeep at a good low price (I'm almost a graduating student from college, so don't have a lot of cash yet.) Also, I may be more interested in a 4 wheel drive vehicle such as a Suzuki at a good price. I may be more so interested in a Suzuki Vitara or a similar model (can be Chev, etc) since they have smaller engines and are better on gas. Anyways, if you guys can help me out any that would be great!!

I might be interested in that, Uncivilized. Do you have any pictures of it? Tell me some info about it if you can, condition of body and engine, how many km's, if it's inspected, etc. If everything is good with it, I am definitely interested. Thanks.

It's not too bad, another forum I frequent is currently changing servers - so I won't have pics for a couple days, it's inspected till May, but I'm going to re-inspect it once the rocker panels are in, and the new exhaust is on. It's a black tin-top by the way.

Well good luck in your search. If you are planning on wheeling it you are better off saving your money and getting a good base to start with. Also, buying it is only the first expense....buying something as cheap as you seem to want will bring with it an abundance of repairs, let alone once you get on the trails. Just something for you to keep in the back of your mind...

I'm not worried about going much on the trails right yet. I'd just like to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle that's good on gas.

Zuks do just fine off road, they can be just as capable off road as a jeep. I'm not here to bash jeeps as this is a jeep site(and I like them just as much as the next guy), but I'm in the same boat as you just starting with 4x4 and off roading and don't have much money, eventually I will retire the zuk and "get a real Jeep"(as I was told by someone at sobey's one night ) BTW Clairvoyant - fill out your profile
jeeps are nice... but they can be pricey, and there hard on gas, with low money i would go with a zuki! beat the sh*t out of it, then when it dies, dig in ur pocket for change and buy another one to beat
I'm not gonna argue that wheeling can be costly, but I don't think doin' it in a Jeep makes it any more so. I think groups like this actually might make it a little cheaper actually. It's probably easier to find good used upgrades for a Jeep than a 'zuki. Better aftermarket support too. I'm not knockin' the suziki's by any means though, we followed a couple through Halfmoon back in the summer and they did very well. Can't deny the gas mileage advantage, but not all Jeeps are complete gas guzzlers either. My first Jeep was a 2.5 5pd MJ and it got pretty decent mileage (and had more power than a 'zuki, sorry guys). There are cheap Jeeps out there too, especially if you don't insist that the top comes off. The last 2.5 5spd 4x4 XJ we bought cost like $275, it needed only body work to be streetable and absolutely nothing to be a trail beater. Kind of a shame actually that so many of them wind up getting scrapped for their 4.10's like that one. Anyways that's my input, but wheelin's wheelin' regardless of the vehicle so have fun and see you on the trails
BTW We have a 2.5 5pd 2wd shortbox MJ for sale cheap as well as some of the required parts for a 4wd swap.
yea, jeeps are the shit, if u can find a cheap jeep get it! stock i think they will go probly about the same places a stock zuki would, but haveing the IFS can make for a bumpy ride (maybe thats cuz i use to much of the skinny pedal ) haha, wat ev man! get what ever u can!
