Jeff and I were Tracy's first RCV Performance axle shaft customers. We have both broken axles before. Whereas we know little about mechanics or how to do trail repairs we wanted to build our Jeeps strong, reducing the chances of breakage on the trail and having to depend on others to help us. It is a big investment especially for two Jeeps, but we decided was worth it for self-reliance and peace of mind. Since Jeff and I often go out wheeling by ourselves, neither is much help to the other if one of us breaks an axle; such as what happened last winter when we found ourselves deep in the woods wheeling in deep snow when he flopped on his side and broke a front axle. That was a day I don't care to repeat!! lol These RCV axle shafts are supposed to be twice as strong as OEM. Jeff's D44 will now have the strength of a D60, and I believe my D30 will now be as strong as a D44. The company claims they are unbreakable and are guaranteed by a lifetime "you break it, we replace it" warranty. The CV joint is also just as strong in a turn (where a U-joint is at its weakest) as when it is straight. The CV joints only need to be greased once every six months, whereas u-joints are supposed to be greased much more frequently. Quoted from RCV's website: "Billet chromoly CV joints replace the old school u-joints combined with chromoly inner axles deliver more power to he ground. No more busted joints, egged yoke ears, or knuckle binding with this set-up." I haven't had a chance to wheel it yet since the install, but I'm not really expecting to notice much if any difference. But the peace of mind will be there. Jeff put it in 4-wheel drive and did a tight turn and it was totally smooth - no binding whatsoever, unlike the crow hop you get from u-joints binding. Jeff had to wait for an additional part for his so hopefully it will arrive and his will be installed soon. Here are a few pics from my install: The goodies arrive: The knuckles have to be ground out so the boots will fit: Passenger side done: Comparison of a D60 stub shaft and u-joint, a first generation Longfield axle shaft and the new RCV shaft. The D30 RCV and the Longfield are both 27-spline. Jeff's D44 is 30-spline. Driver's side done: Finished pic: Now we'll cross our fingers that the ring and pinions hold up! Cheers, Cindy

$1100 plus tax, a week to get. They are less than double what a pair chromo's are but no weak joint. I still pop caps when I turn under heavy power, I'm upgrading in the near future. Any takers on a pair of front Rubi Chromo's?
