too fast, wandering around. localize the heat in a smaller area., get closer. start with lap joints and fill with a fillet weld. just running a bead is sorta useless, it will never look good.
that little machine will probably be on high for everything. hard to tell if the wirespeed is ok until you do a little better.
but all in all, not the worst! keep trying.

I have the same machine but it was sold as a mastercraft.
I run gas and have had best luck with .035" wire. You will be on high all the time and it does not weld thin stuff worth a damn. Thicker stuff is---ok---. Has to be clean and flat it is not a forgiving machine so don't feel bad if you have troubles.

So on tuesday im going to go into the machine shop in the industrial park and see if i can pickup some of their scrap metal, ill just explain my situation see what they say.. if not then i will ask for 1/8" by 2" hot-rolled strap probally get 2-3 feet of it should be enuff to learn on, Ive been checking out some youtube videos for flux, and it seems to make it alot easier to "understand" as i can see it being done so it gives me a better idea on it... Thanks for the tips thou:) any more are appreciated,

Pat,
Glen may give you some scraps... or...
I have some here I can donate to you. Perhaps just keep in mind that I may need some assistance in the future swapping frames on the Land Rover ;D.
I'll throw some scraps in the Trooper tonight, stop by work tomorrow or something.
Sound ok?
