Pretty much copying a Clayton setup... Just working on the front right now. Beginning to build the xmember. Other than the 1/4" plates, it's 3/16" cause that's what I had. Xmember minus link mounts, yet to come. Arms are not cut to size yet, but have been drilled for plug weld and clearanced for the threaded inserts. 1.5" is for upper arm(s), 3/16" wall. 2" is for lowers, 1/4" wall 2.25" tube clearance for bushings to be pressed in. Johnney joints, insert, lock nut. Mount for the rear... will be single triangulated. Going up a bit more as well... Bill

Nice! I was copying a Clayton setup for my ZJ model build, it looks like a beefy design. What size tires are you aiming for with yours?

I think he will be posing on 32" KOs for a while... he is cheap. I would expect that there will be room for skinny 33s when he is done. Just a shot in the dark. LOL

Len is correct... prob going to stick with 32's for this year... 33's or 35's after that.
Prob staying the height it is for now... the spacers will go in when I get the new tires and flares.

Bill is cheap... forgot... Going to do this mod to my 242 as well. www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoSYEconversion.htmMy 242 is a mix of about 3 years (I AM cheap!), but the tail shaft is the earlier kind, so I need a retainer and seal. Retainer is coming from the guy mentioned on that page... $30US. Can't beat that! Bill

how will crossmember attach to unibody? what do you have for a tracbar? i forget. Cross member will be attached using the stock bolts, then welded on three sides, and I'll be adding a plate to the outside of the frame rail as well. Eventually the front and rear link mounts will be tied together with a chassis stiffener below the frame rail. Front TB is a RK with a drop mount I built. Rear is JKS, but that will be going. TJ rear sway bar setup will work in the absence of the ZJ rear. Bill

Almost done... put the upper arms on tomorrow Couple pics of the finished xmember... Test fit the first arm. Both on... Couple pics how the arms fit on the xmember Yeah.. the pics suck. Didn't care to get a real camera. Weld the xmember to the frame, prob add a plate, add the arms, cut off the old upper mounts, and should be good to go. Bill
