How many are running these batteries? I have a regular one and it 's always leaking crap all over the battery and box and cablesfrom wheeling.Tired of it! Where is a good place to buy one?Never see them on sale? Don't have to be optima brand if there are ones just as good.CT has one like it for around $187-$200.Whats your thoughts? Open to any advise......

My optima yellowtop is the best battery I have ever had. It has seen 2 jeeps and somewhere around 175 K.

My Red Top has been through 2 Jeeps 100K+, got if from CVO. Not even sure how old it is, but it will still crank up the Jeep no problem even after sitting for a couple of weeks.

Costco doesn't sell them anymore (I checked before I bought mine a couple months ago). Out of the places I had checked, APJ was best price (to CVO credit, I did not check there, it could be comparable to APJ). APJ was almost 100 cheaper than the most expensive place I had found (Diesel and Electric, in Burnside), so make sure you shop around!!! Oh, and I do like mine so far. I got the biggest Yellow Top, 850CCA, and it holds up to my winch ok. Still turns the Batt dash light on during longer pulls, but it comes on later and goes off a lot sooner than with my stock battery. I tried to get an Exide gel cell from another local guy....had heard some good things about them...even better than Optima - but he had trouble getting it from his supplier so I went the Optima route.

APJ, CVO, and Pecks would all have them. I have a Red Top in my YJ. I had heard that the Yellow Tops weren't built the same as they used to be.

as we're on the topic of batteries... my battery gauge is slowly creeping past the "14" it used to usually run a hair under the 14 now it's about 1/8 of an inch over, between the 14 and the red line. it still starts and cranks fine in the mornings?
I had something similar happen when i had my sunfire and some strange shit started happening, I was in wolfville and the cruise control wouldn't turn off and the doors were locking and unlocking. so i pulled it into a gas station and the sides of the battery were swelled out like it was about to explode.

I think mine is a regular energizer, sits for months and has never been boosted in 5 years, runs the winch fine. Probably 100 bucks.
The yellow tops are made to charge/discharge over and over, who does that other than guys running high output audio?
