Scottie sliced open his oil pan earlier, and is looking for anyone with one from a 2.5 l tj that is heading to jam. used preferably, as the only one he can find new is in halifax and big $$$. Let me or him know.

Never rely on parts stores to listen to you when buying 4.0/4cly Jeep parts. I don't know how many times I've seen them hit 4.0 instead of 4cly on their computers and you get the wrong part. We welded up Scott's pan at mudmagnets, and the 4.0 pan showed up the next morning. He would have missed the day.

Worst part of that Jan. We called Napa in Berwick, they said they had a 4 banger pan, I went in with cash to get it and the gasket, same thing. Was a 4.0L pan, luckily I could tell the difference and left it at NAPA. The carquest one that showed up was brought in from St John. I asked the guy at least 3 times, "this is for a 4 cylinder right". Alas it wasn't!

It's a good thing you guys got it welded up then! It's getting harder and harder to find someone worth hiring to work the parts counter. We have gone through many over the years and its always the same thing. When it comes to asking engine sizes, drum or disc, abs no abs, etc..They just don't pay any attention to that. Frustrating to say the least..

Dealer only. I took mine back to Carquest In burnside and talked to Steve , no listing for the 4cyl
I should give a huge thanks to everyone. John and big 6 for making calls. Sizer for parts pick up. Jan for convincing me not to wait til morning , I would have missed the day. And mike for the welding , and jan again for driving us to and from mudmagnets place
Edit.
Ps. Still need one. If there are any good used ones around

Frustrating to say the least.. Not sure I agree with that... It's easy to find someone knowledgeable. Yet it's much easier to hire someone without the knowledge and pay them much less. Results in high turnover for counter staff and they end up being replaced with another person who doesn't have any knowledge but is willing to work for bare minimum. Every new hire you're "resetting" the counter staff auto parts knowledge. A parts store I frequented all the time now has new faces in there every visit. All attitude, no knowledge. Has driven away any allegiance I once had. Sucks.. gotta make a profit though. Bill

I hear that Bill, you are absolutely correct. I followed a counter guy who moved between shops, I don't give a shit about the name on the store. i want good service and no attitude from punks. Scott - no prob man, you needed the nap on the drive. Glad I could help. After all, if your rig can't follow my LJ over the rock pile, who am I not to help you out, when you break trying to keep up? Just kidding! lolz
