At Scott's place today. New front lower control arm mounts. Also bolts were loose, tight now. Arms greased. New front axle joints. D44 checked for issues.... old mount - beef- thanks Scott. Jeep drives better with repairs made and bolts tight. Love the flat fenders-

Wow.... haven't added to this thread since last July. Anyway, this Jeep is still going strong. Used daily since mid-december instead of sitting in the garage. We bought the Veloster in the background in January...replaced an '11 Accent. These were mounted yesterday. oddly, one of the four needs to be returned. Bad wobble once mounted and calls for something like 13 ounces of weight. I've never seen a BFG tire so bad...unfortunately these were the last ones to be had in this size anywhere locally. I'll be waiting for a replacement for a while.

I have read online more than one occasion of the KM2s showing up out of round...
That sucks you have to wait

Knowing Darren, 33x10.50

yes, this size. I tried the 12.5 width one year and quickly found out that 5th gear was useless. 33x10.5 works on this Jeep really well without regearing... takes less power to turn them I guess. Strange but true.

Yeah, I hear you. I like skinny tires too ...

the wider size was a way more comfy ride offroad.... no question. but harder on wheel bearings, being wider. and they were toboggans in snow on pavement. couldn't stop.

I find most BF tires take more to balance that most brands. I was impressed by the 40" Krawlers I did today though, 4oz, 7oz, 8.5oz, and 9oz for the 4 tires, static on the inside only.

3 of them took 2.5 to 3 ounces and I thought that was more than I'm used to seeing for these little tires, but ok.... then we put the 4th on and it said 5 ounces on one side and 7-9 ounces on the other (it changed on multiple tries, spinning the tire on the wheel). On the balancer, you could see the bad wobble easily. tried it on another wheel and same thing. Disappointing for a quality manufacturer.

This Jeep was sold last night. Sad to see it go but I don't have the budget to be a Jeep owner right now. I had a great time with this vehicle and met a lot of cool people out wheeling in it. Here's a pic from when I first had it in Jan/2009. I put 31" mud terrains on it and thought I could go anywhere.... Anyway, I'll be back in the Jeep world another time. Cheers...
