What shocks came with the kit? You mention the 2.2's, but the 2.0's are the ones shown in the picture of the kit you installed. Personally, I found the RC 2.2's too soft for my liking. They are an oil shock, with a 50/50 valving (ie. the shaft stays wherever you put it as your cycling it), and I felt they made my JK feel sloppy to drive. They were never harsh and, while I feel they work fine as a dampener, which is obviously their job, they are not all that crisp on the handling side. I guess I like my ride a little stiffer. LOL. A couple others on the board have had similiar experiences with the 2.2's, but then again there are also tons of JK's running the RC 3.25 lift on their JK with the 2.2's so they can't be too bad. Yeah sorry my boo boo! They are the 2.0's just a typo when I started thread.......

Put them new shocks in Saturday. All four bolt on top of shocks twisted off with little trouble which was good.Grinded the area and welded new studs up there.Actually had some D30 diff cover bolts here just the right size and length and welded them up there. The jeep ride is perfect now as thew springs can travel up and down with no restriction from shocks. Thanks scottanchee for the heads up on welding the studs on for shocks that went great.....

Seeing as there's an add leafs topic right here, is it recommended to add a leaf or get a beefier and bit longer shackle to lift a vehicle an inch or 2?

Shackles are a poor way to get lift, you only get half the extra length in shackle in actual lift.
For your Eagle, replacing/adding a leaf would be best. You're not going to be able to lift the front IFS very much at all though.

Only plan on doing like 1.5-2" lift at most, and get new shocks. Hope it brings it up a tad, it's the LCF (look cool factor).

IFS I wouldnt suggest more than two inches without major work to the CV's, I have 2.5 on the liberty and thats the most before there is some machine work required on the cv's.

Yeah, I don't want to destroy the front end so only a 1.5 - 2" lift. Won't be any time soon though.
A friend told me he swapped xj leafs onto his 15 years ago. Gave it a bit of a lift.

if you check out www.jeepinbyal.com he has a lot of stuff for the ifs in a liberty, dont know if it would work in the eagle or not but the coilovers may. Dont know for sure though never really looked under an AMC Eagle
