Here's what I'm using for sleeves. I couldn't see the pic at work....those are perfect with the center ridge, easy to weld. Nice. home-made or aftermarket?

When I was at Andy's last we fliped over the chassie so he can work on the belly subframe. Installing the supports all installed both sides done. start on the boatsides one side done now the other not much room in there for the exhaust but I will make it work.

Like Jan said, looks really stout. as for exhaust, couldn't you run it down through the boatside? eld a couple tabs in, and run i through there. then it's out of the way, out of danger, and clean...

Well another trip to Andy's to give him a hand on the buggy build. Got the chassie back up on the table and got the engine in position and started on making the engine mounts. Tacked in place Installed the lower dash bar, 1st part of my 2 part dash/console I took my father down with me so he can see the progress of the buggy, I was working on my brake peddle assembly so he ran the drill press for me. Moveing the bar behind the seat gave me a little extra leg room. Bending the tube for the trany crossmember Peice of angle mounted to the trany ready to be welded to the crossmember tube. Right side poly mount tacked in place Tacking the left side. I welded the angle to the tube, I got Andy's welder dialed in for me. THE MONEY SHOT Fully welded and bushings installed and crossmember mounted

Moving that rear cross member gave you a ton more room, that driving position looks way more comfortable. Not sure how I feel about the arm hanging out of the side of the buggy though; is the seat just shoved way over to the left because you don't have the mounting brackets in place yet?
Over all the thing looks great!

Looks great, moving right along. Nice weld on the trans mount. That bar is above the skid, eh? The underside pic shows it, if I'm looking at it right. That's a good design point, now you can make a skid that is smooth and can come off without the trans being unsupported.

Ya the seat is not over far enough to the center.
Jan, The belly will be totally flat, 1/4" plate for the belly and boatsides so I can lay it on just about anything I want. ;D

I REALLY REALLY like that cross member idea. If you don't mind I may try and incorporate that same design into my TJ when it goes flat belly. since the bushings are built into the cross member now that eliminates the need for the rubber mount correct? Which would allow the transmission to ride lower. well it would all be relative. Nice build!
