Looking LJ over tonight in garage gonna undercoat Saturday with ProForm stuff and see a plastic inner fender above rear tires in tub that hangs over frame a tad and was thinking off ripping off permanently to expose top of frame and inner tub.Good idea?I'm sure most of you lifted guys have removed? Whats behind it?

The worst place for rust on mine, caused by the plastic, was the "channel" the body mount sits on directly under the floor where the rollbar mounts. If you get mud in there at all, the plastic will be keeping it there.
You could take a dremel with a mini cutting wheel and just chop off those areas where it would hold mud in against the body. I don't want to remove the entire thing so that's my plan at some point.

Jeez. I think I'll pull mine too. Just so happen to have an underutilized upholstery tool.

Removed the inners tonight and was very clean under it but opens it up alot.Only sand that fell out was where it was flat each side of wheel.Probably 10-12 plastic push in clips to remove and "pull down".Going to put mine back in after I'm done tomorrow undercoating ,I like it closed up I think better for now as it really opens up the back around tub and looks like more sh#t would get in with them removed.Thats my thoughts for now on it.Will see later what I do........
