Has anyone run a 4cyl manual Front drive shaft in a 6cyl manual TJ? Dana/Spicer is showing only a little over an inch in the length difference. My Jeep is down to stock height so that should help a little with the slip, I imagine it will be ok but curious if anyone has done it.
How much of the slip joint should be engaged for proper usage? The shaft is a little thinner at 1.75od as well. I am pretty sensible with the skinny pedal anyway.

Inch longer or shorter?
Usually if you bottom out the slip, and pull it back out 1" -1.25", that is where they run.

reee-f*ckin'-diculous is all I have to say about this front drive shaft.
messaged a guy that has a bunch of jeep parts in town, told me he had a "conversion shaft with a new yoke that eliminated the extra ujoint and centering ball.. $150" I immeadiatley sent the message to Bubba and said is this guy trying to sugar coat a YJ drive shaft? sure enough he was. PM me if you're looking for jeep parts in North Nova and you're not sure if you're dealing with this person or not. Beware.
Also talked to a nice guy on here said he had a front shaft out of a 4 cylinders, asked him a bunch of questions and it checked out, so didn't ask for pics, plus he had a bunch of parts figured he'd know what one looked like. Drove all the way to the city friday night, got there it was a rear drive shaft. my fault for not taking more intiative to make sure it was what it was. He seemed legitimetely sincere but what can you do.
Im glad I knew enough to spot that YJ shaft though, sketchy.
The saga of the front f*ckin' drive shaft continues!!!

Wow, painful! Not meaning to make light of your story but...just wow at how long it takes to find a front driveshaft. Did you try the major junk yards around here? There has got to be a wrecked TJ in a junkyard somewhere that has a front driveshaft still in it. Unless there is a driveshaft hoarding Troll among us and he's beating you to them! It's happened, man! ;D ;D

I stoopidilly gave my spare front shaft away to help another Jeeper out... I asked him a couple months after how it worked out for him and he said he never used it... I just found him on Canada 411 and gave him a call to see if he still has it but no one home...I left a message, hopefully he still has it and I will get it for ya Brandon, if ya want it?? The slip splines were getting worn but I'm sure it still has a year on them.

New splined shaft and slip yoke are not expensive, check with Jason or Tracy.

Hey guys thanks for the pick me up! Jeff i really appreciate that but I likely should get a permanent solution to avoid another goose chase such as what I am going through right now. Monday I'll call all the junk yards again, if that doesn't check out, I'll call jason and see what his options are, failing that I'll take up ricks offer and attempt to make one.

I really didn't expect finding a front drive shaft to be this difficult, i figured one would pop up easy peezy.
do you have any recommendations for a welding shop? I guess i figured I could probably find a good used one for the amount I would have to pay to have a welding shop fix mine.
