Van towed great ! I had no problem keeping speeds up and climbing the hills . I wanted to take my time and try to get the best fuel mileage , but I couldn't wait to get home and was hammer down on the drive home . Round trip was 351 kms and I burned 89 liters of gas . The van was pretty cozy inside too , if it got cold , I used the remote start to warm it up

That's a little better than 9 MPG. Giv'er! Awesome weekend. Good to hear the heater plan was a good one.

The 6.0 van handled the big hills as well as my Cummins, we flew home.

Round trip was 351 kms and I burned 89 liters of gas . Is that what you expected? What's it's non-towing consumption like? SOunds like it has a lot more kick than the RAM van did at least!

I was hoping for 14 mpg No idea. I haven't put a full tank of driving empty , on it yet Way more kick !!! Doesn't even work hard pulling the trailer unless I have no run -on , on the hills , or stomp on it

I think this is the way to go. Great setup! Sleeping accommodations, tow rig and still room for parts/camping gear/coolers/etc all in one vehicle. Looks like a double or twin sized bed too. My dad did this kind of setup with his '75 Dodge van. Started as a 15 passenger van for the local Boys and Girls Club. Gutted it and then built the counters (with sink), cupboards, top sliding sleeping bunch (he added a top to the van) and added a hide-a-bed, chemical toilet and propane fueled Coleman stove. Had it from '77 to about 3 years ago. He was a hunting and fishing man so did some camping with it. I drove it for the first year with my driver's license.
