I had to google his own RCMP detachment address for him, I found that a little amusing. Step 1 and 2 complete.

Wicked ! we should do a jeep / trailer run some time That could be interesting! haha I kept the garage door closed for that very reason. We had differing opinions on which side of the tongue was left and which was right. I made a good point about putting it on the drivers side (his version of right, when the instructions said left) as this is the side he would normally approach the vehicle during a traffic stop. Then we had a bit of a chuckle about the absurdities of getting one legal for the road. I believe his words were "bureaucratic riggermaroll" one of the most genuine officer's I've met. Constable Maxwell.

I honestly have had nothing but good luck talking with RCMP officers... they're real people and if you treat them as such there is no reason you should have an issue.. As for the off-roading with a trailer run, I wish I had a Jeep haha (I've had this back in the woods behind the tractor hauling out trees, had cars up over the fenders and hauled gear through mud holes I'm sure most on road vehicles would have trouble with)

that was when I first mounted it. I have an electric winch on the crane now and a recessed area in the trailer for a battery. It's great for pulling engines/moving them around: Trailer has electric brakes and a 5 ton force-flex axles... I mostly use it to haul hay.

At first I wanted a massive 6 foot fold down tailgate/ramp made with expanded steel and square tube. Now I've decided to go with a modest tail gate, with removable ramps. I see crappy has a nice set on for $75, I surely could build them for less, but these are likely lighter but plenty strong compared to what I would end up building and it saves me the hassle of buying steel and welding it together. Work smart not hard I say!
