think you're right Rue . he is on Pirate and from Chili , you have probably seen his builds . Seen a vid when they put the 2JZ in it,and took it for a test run. Goes way to fast for a Zuk. LMAO

got an order from Trail Gear yesterday and it was the boost I needed to get me back to the barn . new locker for the rear V6 third this surprised me also some brake lines and hydro assist so ,back to work . when I removed all the brackets from the frame I found these weird dimples . thinking they may be a weak spot with the 4.3 so I plated them also removed some from the winch plate and the front cross member . i,ll fill in the holes later. I want to get the steering box mounted and the fenders are in the way so its time to start the streach . Black line is where i was going to make the cut but after looking , the cut i made is in a better place . every body sing " Its to late to turn back now" lots of work ahead . power train ( i use this term loosly) will come out soon .

Zuk 'powertrain', Its going to feel like you installed a rocket! Work looks good, as is coming to be expected on this project. Nice parts too! you are into the fun stuff.

Out it comes . I love having a hoist empty today I have to remove the rest of the Zuk wiring and cut the rest of the mounts off the frame . then start working on the steering box .

Looking it over and desided I was this far I might as well go all the way . Adammac came out to give me a hand , we took the body off the frame to make it easier to repair the rear of the frame and do the power train swap . Adam said I should do a big body lift and turn it into a mud truck......NO Just left to body on the hoist , up out of the way rolled it out to blast the crud of the frame

Been a busy summer but have been pickin . the space on the inside of the frame where the steering box has to go was a mess . so off came the front added a new front frame horn and plated the right side steering box area , plated and sleeved moving on to the back , the rear cross member is the only spot on the frame with holes . Its getting crusty and its too narrow for what I have in mind off it came got to make room for the new gas tank . for an 02 Jimmy . Pump and sending unit for the 4.3 will drop right in . new rear frame all for now

Well its been awhile but this build is still happening . I added some gussets & primed the frame before I went back to work . got the rear bumper on The main cross member that holds the body on was getting bad so I cut it off and grabbed some 2 x 4 tube cleaned it up and started cutting drilled some holes and made some dimples test fit welded on with a spot for the spring hanger hangers fabed up and in place also got things started for the shackle hangers welded up made some new shackles in place bars welded in to hang the gas tank from. tank back as far as it will go . massaged the tank bit . axle back as far as I can get it this should be a good wheelbase for a Samurai the front body mounts were bad as well made up some repair pieces in place The next problem is my wheels . They are beadlocks that I want to keep but they are 5 on 5 1/2 . so I welded up 4 of the holes drilled out 5 new ones That works all for now
