Well, the day has finally come, time to get dirty!! Took the buggy down and run Cary's Playground today. Very happy with how the buggy works. It's no "hill killer", but it loves to crawl. If the rocks are dry, it has very little trouble gettin around. But if it muddy and wet, it has a harder time. The little VW has a hard time gettin wheel speed, but I guess that's what the clutch is for.LOL It's a fair bit smaller than Steve's buggy. With the COG, it is super stable. Should beable to pull of some crazy lines with it. And you have to like the rear steer! It worked really good, super happy with it. Just have a few leaks to fix, and tune the air shocks and it's ready for another trip.

Hey Rue, what's with the locking hubs? Not going to run drive flanges?
How is the steering with the Toy pump? And did your funky accessory drive belt stay put?

Hey Rue, what's with the locking hubs? Not going to run drive flanges? How is the steering with the Toy pump? And did your funky accessory drive belt stay put? I wanted drive slugs for the front, but when I call they didn't have any in stock and they had the rest of the parts I wanted. Sold me inner and outter cromoly hub gears for the price of the drive slugs. Now, as long as I don't smash the dials, I'll be good. LOL As for the belts, I had no issues with them. They got loose, but that's just a new v belt for you. Alt belt has a fair bit of slap comin off the alt. Think I'll stick another pulley after the alt. to stop the slap.

Few pics of some of the smaller stuff Passages side floor pan. With the shape of the belly and it being a shield for the jack shaft, it doesn't leave much room for the feet. Three bolts and it can be removed for service work or repairs Little mint dash, just big enough or a few gauges and the alt. light. Switch panel, mounted that up under the roof so that it was in easy reach with the harness on. Fuel petal. Small and simple Mounted a roller bearing on the end of it. Relocated the plug for the winch controler to clear the chassis at full stuff Zip tied a piece of 0.040"alum between the seats to keep the belts out of the rear T case output Temporary hood, just big enough to cover the air filter. LOL. Got to like not having a bunch wires to get wet. Had to relocate the turbo drain in the pan. Made up a new hose with some old scrapes from work

there isn't really much exhaust on it, shouldn't have to worry about the egt's.
