Are there any shops that does this kind of work.Told it was going to be a big job like different engine, trans and transfer case mounts maybe wiring and some cutting and welding to make it fit. What would cost be roughly for a shop to do this?

It's not to hard some takes some time You have to cut off the motor mounts from the frame and transmission cross member And build new ones Cut a one hole for the shifter in the floor
But there are some many better motor that will fit with the same work than a 1.3 Like a 1.6l out of a tracker or sidekick or a chevy 4.3l motor

I live in Chester.I'd need a trailer to bring it to you.Emailed a transmission place in Berwick to see if they could take my 4 speed and a Samurai 5 speed and build mine into a 5 speed.A friend of mine has a Tracker I could get for $200.00 with only 70,000km's on it but it's a 96.

a tracker has a 1.6L 16 valve with a tranny thats married to the t-case, and the case has no high range reduction which would result in your zuki being very high sped for reg driving.... unless you changed ring and pinions too. the swap to a 1.3 is pretty basic. i'v done it a couple times

I did a 89 swift gt 1.3 double over head cam Fi swap into a samurai lots of power for 33s. Also did the tracker gear swap. Using the entire rear axle and front gear section with wheel spacers on front to make up width of rear axle

O yes the tracker or sidekick wood have to be a 2wd to ues the tranny The 4wd tracker trans output is the same spline as the samurai transmission output so than you can take the 4x4 tracker t case off the tranny and use the 4x4 tranny in the swap in a samurai that's good to know
