Has anyone bought or tried out the snap on winches from Costco. I picked one up today, hope it holds up better than my two warns did. It looks like a good deal 10,000 lb winch for 399$.

Internet opinion are pretty vague, many say it looks a lot like a Champion and is Chinese made.

I say that now U got it, go out and put it through it's paces. Your experiences and opinions would be greatly appreciated by some of us who are very curious to know how this unit performs. Looking forward to hearing how many folks you yank out with it and how it stands up!

Is it the Warm M8000 style castings, or some weird Champion unit?
The 'Snap-on' means nothing, just a sticker.

Well I already bought it. I will let time tell if it lasts. I hope it's good, and if it's not, I paid 400$ for a pulley block. It will be getting mounted in the next few weeks.

The good thing about buying at Costco is the warranty though. If something does happen, just bring it back and exchange it.

I think all the M8000 style ones are coming out of the same plant, different stickers. It will be as good as anything else. The quality has come up the last few years. Does it have the older style 4-solenoid control pack, or the newer sealed type?

Shawn texted me a bunch of pics w the covers off, its the same 'new school' control pack as my underwater - proof Smittybuilt. Should be a good unit. 500A rating iirc. pic of mine, his is same. its labelled if you want to make an in-cab control.
