Fox Shocks are an " upgrade" through BDS , thats why they have the BDS logo on them . Don't know about the 2.2 prices ( not worth $0.02 in my books ), But the Fox are up there with the high end Bilstiens bds-suspension.com/kit-customizer?kid=417HUpgrade option eh? That's cool. The main rod (piston?) looks thicker than standard shocks... like the RC 2.2. I have had ok luck with the RC 2.2 on my TJ. No leaking yet. I know you had issues with them. The one thing I don't like is the housing starts rusting too soon like all the other junk shocks. I'll be replacing mine with Fox due to being ugly not worn out or broken. Anyways, nice purchase. Get your Currie joint too? Pics of the exposed bolt threads after install please? thanks.

I Thought the RC coils would bag out under the weight of the LJ , I wanted to go Rubicon Express , but they don't make a 2-2.5 lift . Hell must have frozen over , cause I swore I would never buy BDS again lol ( if any one remembers the old FleXJ days , then you would know why ) , But after I installed the BDS kit in Chris's XJ , I thought they might be worthwhile trying again
EDIT My old problem with BDS was a shitty designed trac bar , I was plagued with broken tie rod ends on the trac bars , it was so unreliable it even was breaking in parking lots , This was 8 years ago , and my only problem

I done a ton of reading on JeepForum on lifted LJ's and there was a bunch running 2.5 RC coils.Seem to rave them as being soft but flexi? But they did hate the RC shocks and almost all were running Bilstiens or Old Man Emu shocks with the RC coils this seem to be the most popular set up.....

RC is extremely affordable lol .If your gonna Run the RC shocks , you have to go 2.0 . The 2.0 are gas charged and take alot of the soft / flex away on the street Jan is running OME shocks I think .

Yup, 2" Old Man Emu shocks. Highly recommended. They are awesome, but just look like Canadian Tire specials or something. Full metal jacket over the shaft. gas charged. Variable valving - firm and crisp on the road and on fast dirt roads, nice and flexy in the woods, but not all rolling around like a boat. Rubber bushings with steel sleeves, no urethane to freeze and beat out. I think my 2" coils are OME too, or maybe BDS. I bought the stuff slightly used from APJ, a rig was getting put back to stock. Its been a while.

I have heard nothing but good things about OME, a lot of the liberty guys in the states swear they are the best option. THose fox shocks look awesome though!

I think RC only has the 2.0 has charged shocks now. It's all I've seen in any new kits. They seem to be a good shock, good quality rubber bushings.
I install mostly truck lifts, so I don't deal with springs as much, but I can honestly say that the rest of RC lifts are better built than most of the more expensive lifts.
Something I really like about them is they are always working to improve their products. If I find something that could be improved or a problem, Tracy can actually call them and let them know, and they are happy to hear it.

Pulled the gas tank and started taking out the body mounts Looks pretty gross , but its solid . Jan and I thought it was rotten here , but its not , its all stress cracked and broke off (This is where the body mount bolts to ) Here is the piece thats broke out The back corner is broke out too , I don't understand All the upper , rear shock bolts broke off The only good thing about a 3 in body lift Weld on a washer , then a nut and then spin it up through These side nerf bars are welded to the body , I am glad they are shitty welds , they will come back off easy New VS old rear coils I pulled the fan blade , I did this because the rad has a 3 in drop , and I am taking 1.5 in out of the body lift and puting in a 1.5 in MML It looks like the fan blade has been beating on the fan shroud or something Thats all the update for today

How long it take to get tank out? Cool glowing orb pic, it took me a minute to realize what it was. 'Why does Scott have a small glow in the dark frizbee?' Stupid azz body lifts eh? Did it ever do a # on the body. Take note people! Tall body lifts suck!

I ran ( or I thought I did ) the jeep til the gas gauge was so low , I thought I was gonna run out of fuel just moving about in the yard ( I was wrong !! ) Tank took me maybe 1/2 an hour to drop , I was taking my time , making sure all gas and vent lines were disconnected without breaking them ( the little clips are a toughie , BUT the 3 in body lift was a huge + , it made it soooo much easier ! ) Bolts came off very easy , but everytime I had it on the hoist I sprayed penetrating fluid on anything that I knew was coming off . Its gonna be harder putting the tank back on by myself

Does trimming the fender flairs like that really have that much advantage where there is still an inside lip to hit/rub as well? I can see some trimming helping some for sure
