How does the rating work? I have a stock JK sport with the 17 inch wheels. Will I have trouble if I decide to go? Still on the fence about it.

I think its a mistake running these trails only one day each step up and be a trail guide, and maybe we will have a chance of having enough guides to run them each day! This year was a struggle to just find enough guides to manage the trails we have.

However with any trail we always say that there is a "possibility" of damages ie scratches, dents... here is a link to the trail rating system: www.novascotiajeepclub.ca/trailrating.html

I know that most of the group can hold it's own, but there are always a few, and because of that, the commitee had to have at least a couple of us, so one can leade, and one can take people out if they have trouble.

Wish I wasn't sailing for jam or I'd rent a jeep n guide. As a guide for 5-6 yeas I've seen stockers run ghost train and phinney. I remember people fighting to get those guide positions. Nothing more rewarding at the end of the weekend when people come up to you and thank you over an over for helping them drive through the "impassable" spots. Not only telling them which way to turn and how much gas to use but showing them what they're navigating through. Building thier confidence as a driver and competent wheeler that can think outside the box when shit goes south is what guiding is all about! Cheers Justin

Ok. It's our first time and we don't know the trails. We are not stock and are not afraid of a challenge, but not a big fan of rocks. Maybe when we get rails and some more skid plates we will like them more. Tia's looks really fun, but what else should I be aiming for?

Phinney/Chute are great trails, we've been running them since the club started. You go over North Mountain to the Fundy Shore on Phinney, lunch at the beach, and back to the Valley on Chute (awesome view). I've lost count how many times I've run them, and still enjoy it every time.
Johnson Settlement does have a section or rock, but it's a great introduction to rock crawling that even a stock YJ can manage, but will still offer a challenge.

Thank you for the input. We don't need an introduction to rock crawling, we've crawled before. Either trail sounds good, but I am a sucker for great views!
