I had to let the TJ go last year due to not enough room for my family needs. I replaced it with a Dodge Charger and had a horrible year. I sold the Charger at the first of May this year and bought a fixer upper 2003 Grand Cherokee Limited. The WJ has the seating I need with space in the back for all the family stuff that goes along with kids. Here are a few shots at purchase. This rig only has 120K on it but obviously did some sitting and is not "perfect".
When I purchased it, this rig was not inspected and had a few things that needed fixed ASAP. I replaced:
- Draglink Tierod - Both Trackbar bushings - Rad - Fixed Transmission cooler line - Bank 1 Sensor 2 O2 sensor - All 4 Brakes (Calipers/Rotors/Pads) - Temporarily fixed holes in rockers - New air cleaner - Changed Oil - Got it inspected
I have on order a Rough Country 2" Budget Boost with R/C 2.0 Shocks and 1.5" Hub Centric spacers. I also have a Magna Flow muffler and a Rancho RS5000 shimmy shock coming for it as well.
I will keep posting as I add or remove parts from this build...

Giant sticker will give you problems, I think it takes away horsepower. Might I recommend a Kona or Trek sticker?

Also picked up a new Magna Flow 14"x9"x5" stainless muffler to replace the original one. The old one had a few pin holes and was rubbing the side of the control arm as well. The old muffler was twice the size of the new one! Sounds much better and now it doesn't rattle against the control arm bracket anymore. Aaron

Thx Steve, even though I kept the factory cats and went with the larger bodied muffler, I still have a slight drone that I thought wouldn't be there. I like the deeper sound and the better notes it produces once you step on it, but for everyday driving it needs to get into it's final gear fast or you get a droning thru the cab. Not an uncomfortable drone but I still might have to add a resonator? Not sure if I have to do that or not... Don't want to lose the deeper sound but want to cancel out some of the droning when not "comin' on to 'er". Aaron

It's nice seeing another WJ getting some love!
I have a drone when driving around 50 with my Thrush welded muffler, but it's fine on the hwy, or any speed above 50 really.

The WJ spent the day at the Garagemahal with Scott. Rock slides is what this project needed! I was nervous to cut into it and then find tons of rot, but there was a minimum amount and that made the job much easier for Scott. The first cut always hurts the most... Almost all cut out. Found out today that Jeep put in spray foam at all 4 corners of the rockers, nice of them to do that and make the rockers rot from the inside. Decided to trim some of the wheel wells while Scott was cutting everything else out (Front and Rears) First test fit of the new rocker Scottie starting to weld them in That is a lot of rock slide right there... 2x6x3/16" wall All done and sitting pretty, just needs paint Also I took out the front driveshaft today and replaced the front u-joint and then greased the cantering ball at the rear too. Scott also removed my muffler clamps and welded it up solid. Way nicer with premium welds. Thanks Scott for all the work today... Aaron

Looks great Aaron! The sliders Scott did for me are definitly the best thing I have had done to the Jeep!! It's nice to be able to slam down on them and not have to worry about damaging anything!!
