OK, hey everybody, I have a question.. I have a 99 Sahara, 4.0L, Lately on a cold start it dies out for the first few mins. - tac doesn't show a drop when it does this. Worse when it's wet out or after it sits for a few days but I don't think it's electrical. Works fine once it's warmed up but I'm getting a strong gas smell if I have the windows / top down. I know it's likely something in the fuel injection system but I don't know shit about f.i. Any help? (please)

How is your battery? My Grand was like this when the battery was weak (would still roll fine, but would sputter for a few minutes until the alternator got the battery charging).
Could be gas bleeding off too when its been sitting, try turning the key on to the run position for a couple seconds without starting a couple times to bring the rail up to pressure and then try starting it.

Oh, I never explained it that well- It starts and idles fine. It's just on acceleration. When I hit 1500 - 2000 rpm is dies out. It's like taking your foot off the gas Besides that, battery is good. Alternator, plugs, wires, cap & rotor all new (recent)

I have had similar effects happen at higher RPM before and it ended up getting worse until I put the multi-meter on the TPS sensor and found that it was worn out in a certain part of the stroke. Maybe worth a check? Also when you get around to dropping the fuel tank, mine had a crappy little ground wire that corroded off and the fuel pump wasn't happy about that.

Do you have any check engine lights on ? No Lights on. A couple times it hiccupped and the check engine came on. I was able to reset it by disconnecting the battery. That hasn't happened again since about a year now. Haven't had time to look into it yet so it's still acting up

Good points too- worth checking out when I drop the tank
