I just wanted to thank John, Shaun and Andrew for sharing their knowledge with us at Jeep 101 and for the great trail run that followed.

The manufacturer is simply catering to market demand by offering a vehicle that has the comfort, safety and fuel economy today's consumer expects. I don't think there would be much desire in the showroom these days for an original Cherokee, nor would it meet today's vehicle standards. Jeep does not currently have an offering to compete is this segment and therefore is losing customers to companies like Ford and Hyundai. Anything that brings POSITIVE brand awareness to Jeep is a good thing in my books. Then again, I could a bit biased.

As a newbie it was good to see how well this message board can work. I saw this post, called the cell# and realized I was only ten minutes away. Rescue completed!

I'm just getting started with off-roading and I figured a hi-lift jack would be a good idea. I was at Princess Auto where the 48" hi-Lift is $99. They also have a 48" Power Fist jack that is coming on sale this Tuesday for $49. I like to believe you get what you pay for but can there be that much difference in a jack. Does anyone have any experience with either of these products?
