... Come to find out they are exactly the length needed for 3-4" of lift on a TJ... Now, they are nearly 100% bolt in. With the exception that you need to save your front lower bar pins, press out the metal sleeve in the front lower JK shocks, and then put in the bar pin. Otherwise, they bolt right in. So... with my Rubicon these should fit perfectly even though mine is at stock "Rubi" height? If so then thats cool since I am going to need shocks soon.

Looks like a TJ style, but with your discription of the side windows it could be for a LJ 04-06. Compare it too yours and if you have and extra foot or so longer then you know that its an LJ soft top.

You will have to buy the whole shaft. I had this problem in my old 94 XJ and took it to Andre. He looked at getting a new joint and actually found them but was told that the company who makes them only sells them to the companies that make the shafts. Not sure if its still like this but it was only five years ago when I did it.

Anyone watch Alaska Off-Road Warriors on The History Channel? I just got through all eight episodes and found it pretty good. They were trekking through some beautiful and rough country. Most of the cast were pretty good people but I found that Jason who drove the Range Rover was a huge ass. I was rooting for Butch & Bill in the Toyota Land Cruiser named "War Wagon" but was happy to see that the "Super Jeep" (a '54 CJ I believe) had taken the win. I thought that the "land anchor" tool was a pretty cool device to use when there isn't any trees or rocks to winch off. Overall it was a good show, a bit cheesy at times but I liked it. Hopefully it was the drive shaft. If that fails on you when your doing hwy speeds say good by to your T-case. Happened to me in the Rubi and my 241 blew apart in pieces. Was pretty scary happening at 120 km/ph.

The 1310-1330 u-joint is only $15 for the generic brand at Drive Products. I had to get one when I installed the 231 in the Rubi.

When mine broke last year, I called up Parts Source and was able to get the new part for $79 Dorman part number: 924-704. It took about 45 min with me watching the video on my iPhone, lol. I used a small precision screw driver and a small hammer to knock out the tamper proof pins and used a regular T10 torx. In the picture below my broken one is in the foreground and the piece that came off it. Here are the instructions I used. Follow the steps in the exact order they do it, including assembly. Good luck.

Yeah Jan that's what I am going to do. It's to hard to find one that fits and getting it shortened will cost the same as buying a used one.

That is the same size as the one that I have. It came out of a 4cyl TJ. I'm looking for one that is 17-18 inches from centre of u-joint to beginning of the slip yoke.

Well the rear shaft I have is too long as it came from a 4 cylinder. What I am looking for is a rear drive shaft from a TJ with the 4.0 engine, manual tranny and 231 t-case. This is the last thing keeping the jeep off the road so if anyone has one please post up.

Well after about two hours friggin with the 231 I come to figure out that the one I bought yesterday is a 21 spline and my output shaft is a 23 spline. So now I have a 231 that isn't any use to me. So if anyone has a 23 spline 231 and want to sell, I'm looking... Again. I did hear something about changing the input shaft but not sure how or if I can do that? Anyone know anything about this?

Found one. My son and I are installing it tomorrow morning. As well as putting new front rotors and brakes on the wife's Ranger.

Since finding a Rubi T-Case is pretty hard and I need the Jeep as a DD. I am in need of a TJ 231 T-Case and the front and rear drive shafts. If you have one and like to part with it or know of any around post up.
