The Annapolis Valley Chapter of the Nova Scotia Jeep Club suffered a tragic loss today with the sudden passing of Dave Vanbuskirk. Dave passed away early today leaving his wife and family behind. Dave was a true Jeeper, always willing to help any one in need and a real asset to our sport. He will be missed.

If there is anything the Club at large can do to help please let me know Terry. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Vanbuskirk family.

Condolences to Dave's family. Why not do a benefit run for the family? Just pass around the hat during the run and donate it to either the family or Dave's charity of choice. Just my humble 2 cents worth. I went to school with Dave so it's kinda hitting me hard being the same age. Scary!!

Lee has some sugestions whereby members will be able to assist where it is most needed. He's related to Dave's Family and will find out where help is best required. It's wonderful to have these offers and we'll be sure to pass along information as Lee helps the family through this tough time. Dave was a great guy. Well loved and fun to be around. He had some wonderful idea's and could build a boat out of leaves, if he wanted to! He loved Jeeping and was a credit to the club. I'm so going to miss dropping by and talking idea's. He helped my son out in so many ways while he was trying to get his car on the road. I was away and unable to help. Dave stepped in and rebuilt the floor and fixed several items that would have made the car unsafe for both Alex and Kelly. Kelly has known Dave her whole life and he was like a big brother.
Just a big lovable Bear of a guy. Why do things like this have to happen to such wonderful people? I'll never understand life, such as it is.

I only met Dave at a coffee night in Greenwood about a month ago, and talked to him shortly at the Fall Crawl. Dave was highly respected by members of the Valley Chapter, with is abliity to fabricate anything and had wonderful solutions for repairing . I only knew Dave for a short time but will feel his loss in the club and his friendship to fellow members.

Did Dave manage to fix his Jeep since the Fall Crawl? If it's still broke, I think helping to fix it would be a good thing for the club members to help out with, if it is needed.
I only met him a few times, but it was easy to tell right away that he was a great guy.

Dave had some unfinished family projects slated for this winter. With family approval we will organize a work party to get some of these finished. John
