Just a quick note guys.
I'm working with the Capital District Health Authority to get stuff up and running here.
They cover a section of the province from Windsor to Sheet Harbour and out pretty much to Bridgewater.
That said, there is an Annapolis Valley District Health Authority which offers coverage between Windsor and almost to Digby (that's another area again).
So, I'm hoping we can roll things along in this manner:
As soon as I get more details on the CDHA plan, I'll dig up a contact with the AVDHA and we can get a meeting going with them. The team will need a coordinator for the Valley area - someone who can meet with the Health Authority folks and do the actual call-outs when needed.
Since this is a volunteer thing and not an election, there is only one major criteria I see as needed in this person:
The committment to be available 24/7 when we're called on. Someone who always has their cell phone on and is willing to answer. Talk amongst yourselves and let's get working on someone for the Valley area. It's a cinch that I shouldn't be the one doing call-outs for the Valley.
As we get these two main areas up and functioning, I plan to work on contacting all the remaining District Health Authorities, where we can gather Jeeps, to get the help into those areas as well.
One critical point to remember is as the coordinator for an area, you can call folks from other regions in to help if you need them. We may not be getting the weather you are in the Valley, and I'm sure some folks would be happy to make the trip down to help if the need was there.
Anyway, I just didn't want anyone concerned about my immediate focus on getting this up and running for the Metro area only at this time. It's just a matter of expedience and to help iron out the bugs.
