Though I'd post this for Eric. He's trying to get a trail run going on Friday. He doesn't have Internet, so call him to let him know you can make it.

This run will be in a new area. It will involve getting some serious scratches on any rigs running it. Damage to bodies is certain! Major rocks in several spots. Must have a working winch and a locker would be a great help.
I want people to be aware of this as there are no spots to turn around. Once in, your committed. If the trail turns out better that will be great for all. It has been over 20 years since I last ran it. May have changed

Eric has to have a house inspection done Friday morning. That means we'll get underway after lunch. The trail runs from an old pit follows the powerlines till we hit the Nictaux Power Plant at the Falls. I've been able to find out about the bushes. Couple years back NS Power cut and sprayed the trail, so thats taken care of. The blasted and removed some rocks that caused all the problems last time for us. Shuld just be lots of mud at this point. If it sucks we'll post it up and if it's good we'll invite some more along. Fuels to costly to run lame trails!

I'm sure Eddie, a good run on the Fire Roads will change your view Go slow keep the dust down, watch out for traffic, please keep your hands and heads in the windows at all times Good every now and then but chalenges make great stories and good photo ops. ;DI may run over today to look at the begining. Jeff I'm not certain anymore. It used to be very nasty and everyone on our run busted or bent something. I mentioned it to a friend yesterday and he said, Naw they fixed that up and cleaned it out a couple years back. Just some mud and rocks etc. There used to be a section where you dropped down a rock face, with no way to winch back up as there was no anchor point! We had to tie off to the rig behind and sorta lower down or flip forward! The last rig did a nose stand! It was me That was the point of no return. Guess there is a section around this bad part. They needed to get the odd balls through for pole work. We'll see whats up on Friday. It may be fine now for stock Jeeps.

The new road he built going in off the 201 off from the end of your road. Down west to the Falls. Like a said it was 20+ years ago when we ran it. Now it's supposed to be tame. O well we'll drive it and look in other area's.
No one has made it through the saw dust pile ever!! So that an option and there are no bushes. The trail on the other side is supposed to be short but fun.

Well at the last minute, I was able to meet Eric and head out. Only chance for my visiting Brother-inlaw to wheel with me so I changed some things around. We had 2 hrs to make the trail and be back. If anything happened the Jeeps were getting left behind! Then a walk back to catch the bank before it closed. No pressure to rush through the unknown trail. To shorten it up, the trail was more grown in then I had remembered. Eric and I left a lot of paint behind! There are real old alder bushes and most are dead with some nasty barbed wire in sections Let me tell you that stuff makes a mess of paint! In some sections in the mud bogs there are basket ball sized rocks that you can't see, but man can you hear and feel them. There were 2 real deep mud holes that buried Eric for a while. I managed to get around him and also got stuck. That was interesting untill I got going again and onto solid ground. Got to sit back and watch Eric slog through knee deep mud ;D The bad part is NS Power has installed a road gate and there is no way out. We asked to workers at the plant if we could go down beside the plant and they said sure, if we were stupid enough to try it. That way would also have been closed but they had a key to the secound gate. Good trail that will suck up almost every jeep around. Will need a lot! of cleaning and clearing before I'd take people in. Stupid to trash a good paint job on such a short run.

So you guys came out behind the power dam in nictaux? That gate is sposed to be owned by Mark Hankinson. He spossedly bought the pit and put up the gate to keep illegal dumpin to min. My father helped put up the gate. I used to go back there all the time but now its tricky gettin out. You coulda turned around and tried to see if bald hill was passable! Only cpl small trees to move and i was gonna try it last yr. ran outta time.
