Crunch time folks. Environment Canada has issued a severe storm warning for Kings,Annapolis,Digby,Yarmouth counties. High winds,20CM or more. They are saying extreme white out conditions expected on the 101 highways.
So the question we need to ask is do we postpone our winter food fest till next Sunday? I know people from metro won't be coming down, and I don't blame them. If we get hit that bad I for one won't be heading out! I could care less how deep snow is or how long it take to drive to a spot. White outs are just to tricky with on coming traffic.
At what point do we call this event delayed? Lets make a decision by tonight or before. Food needs to be bought and why eat frozen when fresh is better. Not sure who has bought the main course or if it has been bought. That may decide things. Lets hear some feed back. I know next weekend and we'll have a great turn out!

OK, what gives? The weather network is showing 2-5 cm and nothing about a major storm. If someone has better weather info then these two jokes please post it up. Tks

I hope we don't put it off as I can't make next weekend and I've been looking forward to this. John

I don't have to travel, so it doesn't make much difference to me. Jeff or Kevin, you should make some calls to Lance and Terry and make a decision soon. I haven't heard from Enos, so I assume he is on his way over. If so, he won't be coming over again next weekend, and I can't do it next sunday either. Saturday would work though.

Hi folks , I was talking to Kevin this morning and due to the fact that I have a funeral to attend this afternoon we had to make a decision on whether or not to buy the steaks and scallops. Since the place where I had them ordered from already had them done up for us , we decided to go ahead and buy them and if need be we can freeze them and use them next week.
i have sinced talked to Lance and we thought we would wait until supper time tonight to make a final decision on tomorrow as to whether we cancel or not. Sorry folks but if it is going to be real bad I don't see the sense in getting everyone out on the roads if it is not absolutely nessessary.
Check back early evening for a final call on tomorrow's event.
Thanks Terry

Next sunday is also the Topless Run in the city.
City guys head out for SWAT in every storm, we're not going to let a little wind and snow stop us are we? ;D

I was just talking with Alan, and as it stands, I won't be coming over this weekend if the weather warning stands. Just not worth the risk of traveling with the kids.
Two weeks from now would be much better than next weekend for me.

Kevin, note the big smiley at the end of the sentence, I was kidding about going out if it's bad!! Looks like the best reschedule date would be the 26th to have the best turnout, and I'm sure winter will still be here. Forcasts all seem to agree now. Not a big storm, but bad enough ruin our plans.

No problem Alan. I had gotten a couple of e-mails and wanted to make my point! Never any offense taken for a little joking I think the 26th would be great! I'm sure we'll have a fantastic turnout. We all know if we don't cancel it will be a wicked storm, cancel and the weather will turn out sunny!! It's always our luck. I was just out to move the YJ and I see rad fluid on the ground I'm sure this won't be good!

Hey Guys, I will take it that you are rescheduling until the 26th then. That sounds good to me. It is not the snow that I worry about, but like Kevin said, that combined with the wind we are supposed to be getting will be a pain to drive all the way home in...especially in the dark. Oh yeah Alan....we have limits in the distance that we travel when doing SWAT... ;D ;D. Now what will I do with all this dessert that I have here...shouldn't be too much trouble since five 15 yr old boys just showed up....lolol. I just geared up an inflator/deflator set up this afternoon so I guess I will have to wait to use that too. See yas soon John

Hey Folks, with the impending snow storm and/or bad weather that is coming for tomorrow , we are going to officially postpone our winter run/ foodfest until the 26th of Feb. Lance and myself did not feel it worth it to run it and only have a few show up where as hopefully everyone will be able to attend on the 26th..
Hope to see you all on the 26th of Feb in Bear River for our Annual Winter run , which will still be a "surf and turf" foodfest.
Thanks Terry

Maybe we'll even have enough snow by then to make getting to the eating spot a challenge! Hopefully the weahter will be better on the day though.
