Ok since I kinda started this thing... I was thinking because its hard to set up individual chapters (ie. one in Truro, one in NWGL, one in AGSH, one in AMHR, etc) Why not set up one Chapter - I have been calling it NNJeepers. As per the Charter - you belong to the chapter that you pay your dues to. Therefore we get the required # of jeepers to become full/payed members then we apply to form our own chapter. The biggest problem I see is that although it will cut down on traveling to HRM our chapter will still cover a big area. (Amhr to Agsh) I feel it is only fare that the chapter would hold meetings/runs in all areas on a rotation but this would have to be agreed upon upfront. So looking for input - good/bad/constructive input.

Having a Chapter covering a large area can be a bit of a challenge (the Annapolis Valley Chapter covers roughly Windsor to Digby, but with members as far down as Yarmouth and me stuck out in the middle of nowhere) but you have the right idea to move things around.
Many of our meetings are rotated around from Kingston, Bridgetown, Bear River, etc. Halifax also covers a big area, but with a large core group in the city but run trails all over and have held meetings whereever the planned trail is.
Basically, it can be done, its just more difficult to get together sometimes.

Great work guys, I knew it would only be a matter of time for a Northern NS Chapter to be in the works.

I'm in...again. Haven't paid my dues to Beth yet so I will wait until this thing gets off the ground to pay NNJC. Might have one more jeep tag along as well.

Thanks for the support Enos/B6. We will give it a try and see how things work out. Feel free to give us your input/ideas since you have been down this road already.

I see no reason why the runs you have already completed wouldn't count. John

I agree with John but I have no say in it. Send a PM to Beth she is membership person. If you lead two official NSJC runs in ower neck of the woods plus... then hell yes that should count.

The idea of making people get out for runs and attend a meeting of sorts, is to get to know them and vise versa. Is the club for them. Will they clash with the club and it's foundation. That's the reason I posted several months back about vouching for a new member etc. People stepping up and supporting a membership application means more then the runs you put it. We do have to have something in place for a person no one knows or has wheeled with!
That all said heck ya your previous runs should count. They would down here and I'm sure the Metro Chapter will support you. Lets face it, you were supported enough to lead runs within the NSJC. I'm really happy to see you folks getting a new chapter together. It gives a new core area for wheeling. New people into the mix as well. Enos has mentioned some things that can be a challenge. There will be things crop up and at times it may seem like swimming up stream! Keep plugging along. It's great to get together and shoot the breeze with like minded people. Thats what the NSJC is all about.
I hope to one day very soon drive up and go wheeling in your area. I'm tackling 2 Jeep rebuilds at once and I'm falling behind. I'll have one road ready soon. Remember once you have your application approved, executive in place, then you'll need a person for the Steering committee. There may be a little glitch as I don't think we considered anyone forming a Chapter, "before" we had a steering committee in place! I hope this doesn't dissuade you from your plans.

thanks as i have said i have lead 2 runs and also been down to the city for a number of runs, but due to my time limits, the trips to the city r few and far between(5 runs in 3 years), this is way i asked.so Ill will send down my app. i will hope that consideration will be given toward what i have said and have done with the club
