Stolen vehicles do not have "rebuilt" titles.....only damaged vehicles that are written off by insurance companies.....hello, new paint, be careful people. They don't get written off for minor damage....or missing wheels....do your homework.

Being a US vehicle, it could be one of the many that were swamped during the hurricane, I've read somewhere that a lot of them are getting grabbed up and rebuilt, but because they were written off by the insurance companies they have to get a "rebuilt" registration.
I see its up to almost 10K Cdn now.

someone should run the VIN of it if they have a chance and get that stuff free.
1j4fa29p42p721297 there it is if anyone has the opportunity.
From what I have heard those hurricane vehicles can look perfect but be horrible for your health. All of sh*t that was in that water down there usually cannot be all cleaned out of the vehicles and it leaves you breathing in a lot of bad stuff that is very harmful for your health.

The only way to get additional information would probably be to do one of those insurance VIN searches like CARFAX.
Basic CARFAX info shows (You have to pay for details):
VIN: 1J4FA29P42P721297 Year/Make/Model: 2002 JEEP WRANGLER SE/TJ SE Body Style: 2 DR WAGON SPORT UTILITY Engine Type: 2.5L L4 MPI Manufactured In: UNITED STATES Search Results: 7 records found in our database

There was a recall done on it in late Feb/06 08B07182 - Recall B07 The complete vehicle is restricted. If someone on their third clutch in as many weeks etc. would be restricted for tranny work only...not the whole rig. Something funny here.

does the jeep have current nova scotia registration or still american paper work? you want to call motor vehicles with vin #to see if it clean/conditions=branded( salvage reparable or salvage only)if it has ns registraion and its clean no biggie .you can replace seats and carpet if it was in a flood. at $10000 you are better off buying one that local no title issues.

Just as a tip for any adventurers. Boiling the wiring harness in baking soda helps to remove corrosion

That would have been nice to know back when I was cleaning all the corrosion off the wiring in my Neon a couple of months ago. Man, I've never seen a car with that much corroded wiring.

Yea I ended up getting it.... my next door neighbor who has been a machanic all his life and does alot of jeep work came with me to drive it and did a whole look over....it was in an accedent last year in pensalvania it was rear ended and the only thing that had to be replaced was the corner body panel and the back door (tailgate) needd to be replaced...I talked to the guy that had it in the accedent....the only reason it says it's rote off because the insurance made him do that...andway it is amazing underneath..never seen salt low milage...he said the fender flares are red because his black plastic ones were faded so he painted them...I thought It was a good deal for 11 grand....

Being rear-ended is probably the reason the hood doesn't line up with the fenders.....oh, wait, the hood is in the front....oh well, there's one born every-day

Kyle, You should really have it checked out at the dealer or Andres before any money changes hands, it looks real nice....but an insurance company won't write off a low milage 2002 tj with-out roughly ten thousand dollars worth of damage.....check it out
