I am in the water business. Bottled water, coolers, RO's etc, also have conditioners and other equipment. I'm not a licensed plumber, but I would be willing to barter goods/services/advice with anyone who needs.

We carry Fleck valve conditioners (Hydrotech, also called watergroup & Duro depending on where you get them). Iron depends on how much and a few other parameters. Anything less than about 8ppm can be taken out with an "iron softener". Any more than that and we have to look at a dedicated iron filter, either a greensand or birm system. Manganese, PH and hardness are some of the other factors that need to be considered. List price for iron equipment can run anywhere from $1,300-$1,800 typically. lazy
