does anyone know how to polish concrete, i'm looking in gettting the garage started in the next couple week.

There are lots of contractors who will place and polish concrete for less then $500 or you can rent a concrete polisher from most construction rental places (cat rentals , hertz , united rentals ) . If it was me I wouldn't polish the floor a really good trawling job works good with out being super slippery

x2 on the really slippery when wet... any particular reason you want it polished?

i don't want it like a mirror, its just that when its done with a 2x4 its harder to sweet and clean up.

A 2x4 only helps level the concrete out you are suppose to trawl it with a concrete trawl and use a Darby and roller too !

Mine's power trowelled, I like it. It's not slippery, but it might be if it was painted. I used steel in the floor, but no vapor barrier. I highly recommend the vapor barrier, it makes the garage damp without it. Now I have to go paint it. Paul

Just mix some fine sand in with your paint if you polish it. No-slip!

Wants to be older cement if your painting it! The paint will only peel and be a mess. Epoxy is the way to go. Prep work is the key. Needs to be acid washed and rinsed and then the epoxy applied. May be a lot more expensive but try stripping paint from your floor several times

Its hard to paint cement........painting concrete is not that hard if it's clean.
