Although I'm sure there will be some last minute catastrophe again this year, the list so far is pretty short : MJ: - replace toasted front ring and pinion. - remove what little is left of the box and fab/modify a flatdeck for it until I can find/build a new box. - rock rails. - fab and install a decent t-case skid. - re-work/add towpoints. - install front skid. - replace trans crossmember, preferably not with stock. - replace at least 1 control arm. - longer rear shocks/ brake line. - bump stops. - install 2 new window regulators. - probably a dozen other little things. XJ: - whole new floor. - rock rails - more tow points. - rear axle swap. - rear suspension upgrade of some sort. - t-case skid. - install header and whole new exhaust system. - fix massive oil leakage. - electrical issues. - probably a bunch of other stuff that's been completly forgotten about since the last time it was driven. Sooo..... Who want's to help? ;D

Starting my 4.0L swap this coming weekend. My clocking ring is ordered, should be the only odd part I need. Can you say belly up? ;D Hopefully we'll get the engine/tranny and all related wiring etc out of the donor XJ and sitting in the CJ by sometime on Saturday. Then I can monkey around with the wiring....... Plan: - 4.0L & AW4 from 92 XJ (has less than 200km and runs really strong, no oil leaks!!!) - CJ rad (already 3 core high efficiency) - D300 with Novak clocking ring/spacer (belly up) - CV rear driveshaft from XJ (already on the CJ-will probably need to shorten a bit) - Have a 1 piece fiberglass front clip, not sure if that will get on before Jam (I think I need the Red-nek hood scoop for at least 1 more Jam) - Will fabricate some frame horns and reuse XJ 4.0L motor mounts - Stock XJ floor shifter, will have to make some sort of custom console eventually for some autometer guages Should be a good setup, I won't be winning any mud pit races, but it should make a great wheeler. ;D

You can use the smallish plastic trim /console from a std MJ and the auto shifter will bolt right up , and look stock . I had one in my mj

The ZJ will need new tires soon so it will get more lift to fit some bigger ones. Alan.....I bet we could convince Ryan to see the lift out of his ZJ cheap!!

I had one in my mj Only problem being that the CJ seats are so much higher off the floor than MJ/XJ, I'd have to reach way down to shift. I'll probably just build a metal framework up off the floor in a comfortable location for easy shifting, maybe even an armrest too! ;D

Except NASA may not use 3/8 drive sockets on the end of their levers.
