Can't believe it! Been warm enough the last two week ends that I actually felt like going to the shop to build again!!! I installed the furnace last month but had to spend cash on other house stuff so could not afford the oil tank etc, to get it working so it was still too darn cold to work out there! Anyway. Last weekend I had time to chop apart the old axle truss and do a bit of grinding. Then junked up what's left of the old frame to be used in the new build. THIS weekend I actually went out for a bit Saturday AND today!! ;D Gotta love it when the wife is occupied elsewhere...

got a side shot of the hang on that link crossmember? tough to tell from the pics, but does it need to be that low? (the pic makes it look like its down off the frame like 8"! if its not, or the frame is already raised there, nevermind , heh)
is it even with the tcase? are those shots full stuff and droop?

The cross member is about 5 inches lower than the rails. Because of the depth of the 435 the output of the t-case is quite high in relation to the cross member. It was built to clear the bottom of the trans. You can kinda see what I mean in this pic. It really didn't need to be that low but when I originally built the chassis I was undecided how high/low in the chassis I was going to mount everything. Motor and everything is in so if I don't like how it all sits I can cut if off!

That looks awesome Rico...coilovers, air shocks in the rear? Jeff I made the chassis with running coilovers in mind.... "Someday" when I have extra money. Right now it will have coils from "whatever the heck they came from" as they were given to me. Randy, the guy that gave them to me, said they were jeep ones of some kind. I'll try and get better pictures for you Rue. I'm not much of a photog.

Managed to do more work this morning. Welded up the suspension from the other night. Cut off and made new upper coil mounts and mounted the rear coils. Annnnnd then I rolled it outside to get a better look ;D Talk about a skinny look buggy! Looks tall in this angle. Then I discovered yet another problem. When I originally st up the front links they came straight out from the frame. But somewhere along the line I decided to move the mounts at the axle end out so the links are slightly angled out. Today I remembered WHY I had originally made the links straight. They were straight to clear the tires! Now the "new and improved" design interferes! Lucky most of the front is just tacked and can be easily removed.

It won't look so tall when you get everything mounted in the chassis. It'll probably settle 3".

Looks like your tierod is bent Rico JK Looks awesome , I can't wait to see this run the Curse Ya know.... It DOES look bent in that picture... I'll have to take a better look The harness will be mounted on the cross brace that is going behind the seats. Since I plan on having a rear seat I have to figure a way to put the brace in so not to pose a problem getting in and out of the back. Plus the brace still has to be functional as a structural member. I have to put in the boat sides and tie the rear upper link mount back into the lower cross member. Trying to figure out a stinger design I like to tidy up the front. Also sorting out the front and rear winch mounts. Have to get back out and make a list of things to finish. September is getting closer!!

I like the look of the truss on your 14 Bolt. Do you have any better pic's of it and did you make it or get it somewhere.
