Hypothetically speaking....does anyone how much the ticket is for driving with an expried MVI in NS?

well considering your Insurance is null and void and if you are in an accident it is your fault since you are driving a not inspected vehicle..i'd say its not worth it.
Thats why i don't drive my jeep..not inspected.

AFAIK, the ticket is somewhere around $400+, and you get points on your license and all that as well. Not a good thing to end up with...

I know someone who got nabbed in Windsor a few weeks ago, would not say the exact total but alluded to $1800 all said and done without impound fees added,

If the part about your insurance being null and void is true... then that should be reason enough for anyone not to drive without a sticker.. or worse with an illegal sticker. $157, $400 or $1800 are peanuts compared to millions in a civil suit. And of course they are called 'accidents' b/c we don't do them on purpose  you just never know. |

I can't for sure say 100% if that is true..but its what I have always been told, so I just always assumed it was true.

Hahaha no, I did not make that up, A friend of mine said someone that they knew (and this is probably where the problem lies...she said that he said  ) was caught with an MVI that had run out and that is what they ended up with. Maybe there was something else along with it?  But that wasn't what I was told lol. When I got a ticket for no safety a few years back it cost me around $150 like Jan said. I also got a ticket for no insurance cause I had the expired card with me, not the new one. All I had to do was go downtown and prove I had insurance and it was no problem; $1200 fine waved.
So I'd say the cost of no safety is $157.5; but if you get in an accident I'm sure you're insurance would not cover you; that is if they notice, lol.
