fri/sat has worked because most of us will do anything we have to and its a big pain in the ass, but we do it anyway. sat/sun would be better, we all know it, but now its a "tradition"
i think Friday reduces participant #'s, and contributes to the issue further by the fact there are no one-day passes. You can't get Friday off, therefore you are out the whole event.
two big things bringing down the #'s that feed off each other.
I know my gf is going to have to work friday, and drive down by herself, burning twice the gas we would have used, she's going to miss all friday runs, but we pay full price.
the "friday runs" thing probably had something to do with corporate sponsership, which we are doing fine without.
unfortunately, its probably too late already this year to consider moving it to the weekend.

Good points... I was always happy to have Sunday to "recover"... but if you're able to take friday off... you can prob take monday off just as easily instead.

Jam as a rule is Friday wheeling and Saturday wheeling. Why can the Jam not be Saturday and Sunday wheeling? Have the prizes given out after the trails are done on Sunday evening and head out for home. Or take a vacation day IF you so choose on the Monday and crash for the night^ Let's see, nurse hangover, pack up gear, drive home on Sunday? What we had is working for most, there are only a few that need day passes. I think its well over "a few" and the Jam #'s would be signifigantly higher if the event was on the weekend. my immediate family has 2 who lose out. Everyone knows somebody who can't go because of this. No teachers can go. no 9-5 office workers can go. that right there is huge.

According to the Fox Mountain Calendar, Fri/Sat/Sun are booked off as "Jeep Event".......so, that much of the equation should not be a problem!

As you all know that the Club does not do well with change. This change however is LONG LONG overdue. We are no longer affiliated with the corporate thing, so lets get the change made. Can someone contact the campground and ask?

I have nothing against it being Sat and Sunday, other than such a late night Sunday night. As I said last year the more the merrier. I'm surprised someone hasn't mentioned this before now. Of course money is tighter for some this year too, that makes a difference. My kids wouldn't miss a day of school on Friday, but they'll be a bugger on Monday morning. edit: now I know why it was on Friday to begin with.

Thats awesome. This change would be AWESOME. I would not have to take any vacation days at all. Leave at 1630 from the J-O-B and arrive in time to go through the inspection.

I'm just making suggestions as requested and trying to back up my reasoning. The organizers have a lot on their plate. they are volunteers. they deserve a lot of respect and should not be put on the spot, as we are a bit late to be bringing this up again (the dates have been finalized, remember) but it would be nice to have the idea put forward (i guess we just did), and a response from someone in the know. its tough to make suggestions for improvement , without feedback as to why or why not they are accepted as positive or negative by the organizers.
