Only problem with Sat,Sun is that you usually get back LATE in the day after the run, then you need to eat and pack up, and would there be time for the final ceremonies before driving home way late? And what about people who break on the Sun run?
Just a few thoughts

Very true, I agree it is a major plus especially seeing as Lisa doesn't cook . I was just simply tossing ideas around.

Just a thought..... with regards to meals....what do the organizing commitee think of the meals? Is it a huge pain in the butt to provide all the meals? is it worth the trouble? do you make money? lose money? I have been camping for years, and I sure I speak on behalf of a lot of people when I say......with a coleman stove and a few other odds and ends you can cook up a quite a few things. By decreasing the # of meals you serve it will also decrease the ticket price to the jam and that will also help some of the others that are on more of a budget. maybe include two meals in the ticket price like a nice hearty breakfast on saturday and on sunday have a big mo fo BBQ, hamburgers, hot dogs etc...late in they to gather everyone together for the prizes. If people want to purchase their meals from the canteen they could purchase individual meal tickets for each meal when they register, then fox mtn would have an idea of how much food to buy and when you got your meal you handed in your ticket for that meal and your done. Having all the food for the whole weekend is a major plus in my opinion. You can simply come with a pup tent, sleeping bag and your Jeep and you are good to go. Can't see anyone messing around with the meals as we have had nothing but great feedback on the way it is done....mmmmmmmm bacon Time is short, the days are usually busy. The meals are appreciated.

It is just like a run...30 people will swear they are coming until that day when only 6 people show up. Then you just got 24 pre paid 1 day passes that no one showed up for, you are not out anything. As for registration, just make it for an hour the night before and maybe an hour in the morning. Try and set a time for when registration is to be. Its understandable that people would/will be worried about breaking on sunday's and not being back in time, etc, etc. But the 4 jams I have been to, I never once experienced any of this, know your limits, if you wanna do the ruff stuff, do it on day one, take it easy the next day. We always did the harder trails the first day and took it easy the second day.

saturday and sunday would be good. Option of staying sunday night would be nice incase it is late/rough day. and a drive home to truro sunday night after a hung over day of wheeling/etc would suck. (mind you last year i got a ride back on a flatbed anyways, hehe)

Fri/Sat, i run easy/hard trail. because of likelyhood of breakage, knowing me. but if we ran Sat/sun - I'd run hard sat, easy sun. wrench Sat nite. i don't see that as a big problem.
there isn't much that can't be fixed in a few hours by all the quasi-mechanics walking around LOOKING for something to fix while meeting people, or the APJ pit crew.
Closing cerimonies starting on time coulod be a potential problem.

I have no problem with Sat/Sun
But then I never had a prob with Fri/Sat either. I'd still likely take Friday and Monday off if that was the case rather than thrus/fri
Maybe we need a poll??? Does that solve the one day delima?
If it's sat/sun do we still need to look at the day pass idea?

Lot's of good input - THANKS. Now we have to sort through all of this.
Just a couple of quick thoughts for folks - there are many logistics involved in putting this event together. What may seem simple on paper can turn into a very detailed project. Also, we have to consider our volunteers - to make some of these suggestions work requires commitment (and a follow through on that commitment). And finally there is the linkage to the campground - they have to have an opportunity to profit from the event or it's not going to happen.
I don't think anyone is adverse to change - the only reason I'm stating the above is that if you don't see your idea (whichever one it is) come to fruition, it's not because it wasn't considered but that it may just not have worked given resources or other commitments.
I just have a rhetorical question - if there was one day passes, how many people would just pass on the full event and just go for a day ride, which is no different than just attending the average club run. That's not something anyone can answer at this time - that's why I pose it as rhetorical only.

I meant volunteers helping out Randy... . If I learned anything last year it was that you can hope for the best and prepare for the worst, but there is always something that will come up that you didn't plan on...

Just my little input. Ive never been to a jam yet and planing to attend this year but due to being 3rd in line for vacation someone is already on vacation that week so taking Friday off work is out of the question so I would be paying for a day and not going to be able to go. I would like a sat /sun event for myself and a 1 day pass for my wife and 3 kids. And far as meals its nothing to bring my own for the wife and kids for the day and or buy it at the time if thats offered.

ya, dogs were fine last year. the campground was super laid back. you could graze some cattle and not draw heat. lol
i don't think this years prices have been finalized. last year was $195 per person.
