Very true, I agree it is a major plus especially seeing as Lisa doesn't cook . I was just simply tossing ideas around. All good stuff Doug. You do realize that the Bethel Jam is a Fri/Sat thing too right....lolol I do realize this however most people are closing their pools in October not opening them, October is a whole lot easier for us to get away.

The food is not even close. Well worth the difference in price. Steak or lobster on Saturday night and meals in a resort with cutlery and servers. Terrain is about the same.

Thats right. LOL
FWIW I think if the option of a one day pass is put in there we will have more one dayers that it is worth. I think that the two day nature of Jam is a large part of the attraction to it as an event. Sat and Sun are an excellent idea, but the one day thing? Not so much.

I agree and hope that a Sat/Sun style would remove most of the one-day crowd. Jam is an event not a day of wheeling... we can do that any given day.... but the chance to get together and party afterwards is rare and thus the central part of Jam.

I agree that Sat/Sun is a great idea, and may increase participation. It's of little difference to me this year but I don't plan on always being an unemployed bum.
Also, I'm very excited for the Jam this year. It will be my first as a Jeep owner. I had a blast when I went with BlackSheepXJ a couple of years ago, he felt so much pity for me, he let me run the 101 on day1.

I'm against Sat/Sun, leave it the way it is.
If Jeeps break, there is less time to fix them to get people home.....no buffer time to make sure all vehicles are mobile. I don't wanna be there till 11pm Sunday night fixing Jeeps, I'd rather be home sleeping.
Not a good idea if you ask me.

I know I don't really have much say in this, as I have only been a member for about 5 or 6 months, but I think that Goat has a valid point. with the run on the second day, plus ceremony, plus any and/or all repairs needed to be done before going home, it wouldn't work. yes, it would help for making it more open for participation, but it will also put even more stress on the members coming who don't live half an hour away, when then have to drive home in the middle of the night, after fixing their rigs, just to scramble and take the chance of not getting to work the next day. if it remains a friday/saturday event, people will know what to expect, and they will be able to plan ahead, for the most-part anyways. if something is broken, they have all day sunday to do repairs, and they can take their time getting home, and not worry about faking sick monday. that's my opinion, I know it doesn't really count

that's my opinion, I know it doesn't really count your opinion counts as well as any other! it's interesting that people want to shake up the format for various reasons. for the record, the days the Jam happens on doesn't matter to me or my passenger. not much into the "day pass either" but I think there could be a compromise by having a reduced rate of some kind for those that just can't be there all 3 days. also just an opinion to add to the mix.

I say leave it as is. If there was a one day pass, you would probably only get 1/2 of the current people that would do the weekend event. You might just as well only make it a one day event then. Sat/Sun event would basically be the same thing again. Sat everyone wheels has a great time, party Sat night, some have to work on their stuff to fix everything that is broken on Sat. Sun morning arrives, everyone is hungover, have to tear down camp, 1/2 people leave and even with the best intentions of running on Sun, don't bother. The remainder shows up late holding up the run. Everyone takes the easy way and rushes through because they have to get home Sun night. Then have to take Mon off because they did not make it home till 3am on Mon morning, getting their junk fixed, etc. If it was a Sat/Sun I would most likely only run on Sat. If there was an option to only have a one day pass, I would probably would end up doing just that. Drive down Sat morning, go wheeling, drink a few pop, sleep in the truck and go home Sun morning. It would not be the same.
