This is more of a general idea than anything, but once I'm done lifting and locking the liberty, I will be moving on to a secondary jeep. I am playing with the idea of building a "tow truck" type rig. Basically, it wont be the best truck out there, but with carefull driving, it will be able to get through anything and will have have enough power and weight to pull someone out with him. My immediate idea is a grand cherokee, that way I can get teh v8 and keep the leather seats LOL... If possible a hemi just for the extra power. What do you guys think would be a possible max height and tires? What about lifting it high enough to put 44's under it, and make sure its fully locked front and rear....

FSJ with ProRock 60s, could be lifted high enough to roll with 44s. ARB front and rear. 401 would be a lovely choice, but a 502 chevy swap might be a thought.

I'd get a newer cummins dodge quad cab and call it done.
Can you imagine the drop hitch you'd need to tow with 44's??

If i was looking to build a tough truck/ tow rig, a serious frame would be the starting point.
Kinda rules the GC out. Now an older FSJ, wagoneer, cherokee, injected v-8, big axles would work. Helps to be heavy for towing.
