Here is the header / intake swap
To use the 99 + intake , I needed to swap in a 98 + power steering bracket , I used the pump too from my parts rig
MJ before
Put the MJ on the hoist , took of the tires , and dropped it down to make it easier to get at
Pull the injector electrical connections
These little clips hold them on
Pushed the rail off to the side
I sprayed in between the intake and valve cover with brake clean and used an air gun to clean it all out , before breaking everything apart
The fuel rail needs some wiggling to get out , Took a while , then finally a light tap with a small dead blow hammer finally got them moving
The collector flange was done
I had a spare 2 piece one .
It was pretty hard to see some of the bolts , so just used the camera , take a pic , have a look etc
Off it comes
There's the crack
MY new intake is from an 02 Grand Cherokee
I lined up the header and intake , on the bench to check for clearance issues
The 02 throttle body was taken off , I'll use the 93 that matches the engine
I had to tap this bolt hole , to use the new P.S. pump / bracket
I used a light sanding disc to clean this all up , then sprayed with brake clean , and then used the air gun to blow it all out
Started bolting on the header first , just loose , to hold it in place
Dropped the intake into place , it shares some bolts with the header

Hook up the fuel lines and injector wires
The old idler pulley needs to go
Its replaced with the one on the power steering bracket , and the fan belt directions gets changed to new pulley
Bolt on the pump
Also had to hook up all the vac lines and change out the temp sensor
This guy needs to be cut off for the new belt direction
Great table lol
Exhaust is a little short
Oh well , I wanted to move the stack anyways
I had clearance problems with the bolt ears on the 2 piece flange , so I cut them off and was able to weld the seams on the bench now , with the exhaust pipes all removed from under the jeep
I had to narrow up this piece of pipe to fit on the front pipe
Drilling SS is hard at the best of times , but with a hole saw , no way . At least it marked where the new hole for the stack needed to go
Just sliced it with the grinder , and bent them up and cut them off
Cleaned it up with this guy
All welded in ( and crooked , Its almost up against the frame )
I didn't take any pics of the exhaust welded in ( so no impressing Bill R
)
Then put on my Jam nuts for the new steering linkage , red neck aligned it , and took it for a test drive
Video of first start up . I think its quiter
