It looks big...but we will lose a 1'' when cutting the angle and it will be welded to the bottom of front...so there is 2 more inchs....
there will be two braces on each side....
Beside, everyone has little stringers and if you read up on them you need them bigger to keep it off your hood....
Most of all I like it... ;D

BTW- what's with the gaps of the "inner fender"? The dimensions look right for clearing shock towers, etc, but it's several inches higher than it needs to be. Are you supposed to add something else to cover the gaps? Would have been nice if the metal came down a bit more to keep your engine bay clean. Bill The fender was not made for high lining....If we just put it on there would have been no gaps....And we had to cut out a peace to shape it to the front grill...when you raise it the 3'' the front grill is shape diffent...and yes we are going to full in it before I wheel it again... It will look good especially with the bigger tires/axles. When the whole package is done that stinger won't be the only big thing on the jeep

we made some good progress tonight...Got the stringer pipe cut and welded on.... made paper templates to make the right angle cuts.... Mike tacking the pipe into place... doing all the finishing welds.... I made gussets to put inside the bumper to strengthen it up for all the hard hits the bumper will take... ;D I have to move the place where the rollers go....about 2'' up, so I can get the front plate on the stringer pipe.... just like this one... will be getting that metal tomorrow and we should have that done on Saturday... Very nice!! I love how it mounts at the bottom which still allows for bracing that is not in the headlights...looks like I may have to redo mine Great werk guys, I'm jealous that you're getting sexy dimples too Jeff

How are you going to tie in the tow points Rod? Im looking at the last picture of the Rubi and it looks like the tow points are just welded to the dimpled plate. There must be some sort of re-enforment behind otherwise it would probably pull the plate off eventually.
Or are you not putting tow points on the dimple plate and leaving your stock ones on top of the bumper?
Looks good by the way! Thats one big ass stinger!

I think it just passes through the dimple plate and welds to the winch plate. (could be wrong though)
I was looking at the stinger tonight and it is nice... I was concerned about the size but with the side braces it looks sweet.... and functional.
Mike is turning out some great fab work... gj guys

Thanks Jeff...
Trever....good point about the D rings....I never put any thought into that......I think if we put some kind of gusset to the front plate and to the back of the D ring.....plus the dimple plate will be welded to both sides of pipe and the bottom of the front plate... I think that sould do it....besides I have that big winch so I would pull myself out 90% of the time....

I'm still working out the stresses in my head to figure something that wil work, but thru the stinger plate, through the bumper, tied into the winch plate is the current plan. Plasma will be our new favorite tool!
