thought I saw some where on here that someone fabed some control arms, tj, xj, or zj, not sure they had hiem joints in them, if anyone out there has some info on such a topic, lead me in the right direction, I was looking at the prices of ZJ lifts and they are out of this world! , well they are not that obscene but if i could make them at a reasonable enough price, well you get my point!

what do you want to know?
Or are you looking to buy? How much lift? short arm, long arm?
I run 3" lift 'n 32's on my Grand, didn't need the arms for geometery, just for bashing.
look in the "xjd44/zj" post, you can see my arms there.

What do I want to know?
Well this could be a long post. ;D I want to make upper and lower control arms frt. and rear, looking for pitman arm suggestions, sway bar disco's info, shocks, well I think you are seeing my point. Since you have done this I assume that you would have some good input on what I have to change,
Thanks Bobby

Like for 31-32's with room for a little flex, also would like to have a good foundation for future lifts etc

ok, I have 32's.
front is 3" spacer and zj v8 upcountry coil spring. trac bar hole redrilled over 3/4" inch.
rear is front v8 coil springs. trac bar cut and sleeved to be 3/4" longer.
no control arms needed, no pitman. 32x11.5 are too wide with stock rims, they rub on the rear coils.
for 31's, 2" spacers, or 2" spacer front, and front springs in back.
New shocks would be nice.
I removed rear sway all together, and was running only the front with disco's, but now it's been diconnected for months.
pretty easy, huh?

Maybe not complicated enough But I'm sure I could make even that comlicated enough if I tried hard enough, I just really want to make some control arms, but I could do this simple stuff and make the control arms as a fun time project. where can I get the materials to make such animals in the Cape, like those treaded inserts they were pretty cool and that B7 threaded stock, what do hiem joints go for $, where can you get em? I don't mean to bombard you with questions, I'm hyped about doing some fab work, so answer what you will, it is much appreciated.

yeah, those urethane style ones would be more what you are after. hiems with eat themselves with the grit and salt. in the middle of those two are jonnie joint style with steel balls and teflon of similar /rebuildable races. I've priced rebuilt kits around $30. I made the inserts myself on a lathe, from grade8 coupler nuts. b7 rod was sourced at Trans-World distributing, Dart. ($$$$70/4'$$$$$$) hiem joint is replace whole thing at $100 a pop, urethane's closest to stock, probably most reliable. realistically, heims belong in the desert. 'thane bushings are same o.d. as stock, I'm running stock size bushings in my control arms until I upgrade to urethane. build 'em that way you only pay for materials. you have a welder, yes? not too sure on metal suppliers down there. oh ,and hey Randy, how muchy for lca/uca bushings. pm me if ya want. I'm using the uca stock size on my trac bars, something softer would be nice in my sock for x-mas.
