I just had a decent rip up from Sydney, around $45. 31 tall tires, 4.10, k&n and muffler.
My trip computer said 20.0mpg, and that included a km long drive up a 300ft mountain in 4low.
I tried to correct my speedo with the proper little gear, so that may have to be factored in, it still reads about 5-7km/h too slow.

I got a 94 5.2 and I get a respectable 14-18mpg, but as Jan said the other day when we were out wheelin' " you got to pay to play"

My old man has a 5.2L ZJ and is bragging 22-24mpg. Now granted he drives 90 km/h everywhere(highway/school zone no matter). His is stock with full time 4wd.

I've a '96 5.2L .Halifax to Sydney is $50 @ speed limit. I can manage 16 or 17 avg. in winter w/snow tires/studs. Buy a 5.2 and quit worrying about fuel; the difference is very small or not at all. Did I mention the power? 318s are like 4 liters they don't seem to die.
