hey guys i just bought a gauge cluster off of craig and i was wondering how i can get the clock turned back. mines at 175 and the new one is 260. is there a place that dos this? i heard that if you can prove what the actual km's or your vechile is they will do it. i tried to pull the numbers out of a old cluster i had to see if that would work......lets just say its now non-functional.
help..?

I would expect that a gauge that reads too many KM's is just as illegal as one that reads too few.
Get a speedo cable and a drill... and let er go...

if you have a dremel tool hook that to it, but not at 20,000 rpm - it'll burn out the speedo, slow it down to 5-6,000 rpm and it'll go a lot faster than a drill

Perhaps you want to buy a new cluster with a lower K count? There is an XJ at the U-pick here in Ch'town with 140 or so K Km on it. Perhaps you might find something in your area>>?

Hey what yeah XJ? '91 or newer? the dealer said that they can send clusters away to have the odometer turned up but they just cant turn back. if i had one with 140 or so that would be great.
whereabouts is this place?
