with taxes it was around 500. I forget the name of the shop. It's on Illsley Ave down near the metro transit end. Nice people, good work. I can look up the name if you want it.

there's also this place: www.mountaindriveline.com/partsdeptjeepsmtn.htmbut when I called, they wouldn't ship to Nova Scotia. The exchange rate and shipping of something that heavy would put the price very near what I paid locally anyway. I noticed Ferguson's in Dartmouth has a source for driveshafts like that but the price was the same and you'd be dealing with a middle man so getting something custom made would be sketchy. Hope some of this info is helpful to someone. cheers... Darren

I have an 8.25 in the back of my kee, had it locked all this year, ran 32 swampers, 33 boggers and never had any issues, and will be running possibly 35 boggers this summer on it, so I guess I will find out but from what I have read, it is equally as strong as a 44 is, and has the same size shafts in it

If that shop is by the Transit garage, it's Drive Products.
I've gotten a few things done there, good service.
got front xj shaft rebuilt and shortend for my grand, it came to $350, 3 new u-joints, new center ball, shortening, new spline section, and balancing.
It looked same as that pic posted. Only thing I didn't like was the balancing pads were welded on sloppy.
Don't even think about Fergusons. They are a parts store, with a driveshaft sitting on a shelf from a fullsize Chevy from a dealer. They are not an option for getting a custom driveshaft. (That's my neighborhood parts store for brake pads and stuff, not dissing.)

Yes, Drive Products.
That's what I was thinking about Ferguson's as well when I was looking. Not dissing them either, I buy a lot of stuff there.
